The Transfer Embargo :

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=204226

We fans are naturally extremely concerned !!!

My Fb/ phone / Twitter is inundated with worried City fans

What is the significance of a 3 window transfer embargo ? Why 3 ?

Normally a transfer embargo means that the embargo will last until the reason for the embargo is satisfied !

Once it is satisfied ….there is no more embargo !

So what is the significance of a 3 window embargo ?

My immediate concern is that - because of our attitude over the last 3 years - we are under a transfer embargo this January no matter what !??

The Club owes it to the fans to be 100% clear and honest as to what is really happening and what are we doing about it ?

Why should they not be transparent on this one ?

Where is the damage ?

There is more damage in keeping it secret !

Are we paying Nantes ? Yes or no ?

Can we remove the embargo this January ?

Seem like fair questions & I was wondering if it gets lifted once we pay the money or if it stays regardless.

It's not explained why 3 windows embargo but chelsea got 2yr ban in 2009.... man c couple for a of windows but won appeal... buts imperative that club inform fans of reasons why they wont pay nante and how they're going to avoid embargo? Whilst it's not imperative for this season next is a different matter and needs to be addressed before end season.

Any chance of Transfer ban lifted by January?
My answer: No

Reasoning
The reason why we are where we are is because we have a greedy owner who is going to send us to league 1.
The board know it and now does the fans. Tan is single handily destroying this club and no one can see it. No spent enough in transfer windows in recent seasons, stripped this club to the bare bones in terms of quality (in players and managers) and he simply dont care enough to attend games since we were relegated to the championship. This club is a dying giant who if not carful we could be seen as a team that will never reach it's true potential unless Tan leaves.

We shall hope and see, as we know Dalman tells everyone what they want to hear, he is like an MP.

Annis, have you read the statement Dalman put out, its all on the BBC site, its absolute fu**ing shocking

should cardiff fans be worried, "yes and no" was his answer, and even says we haven't made payment to Nantes and have no intention of doing so

"Should fans be worried we won't be able to buy anyone in January? Yes and no," Dalman said.
"I don't know Mark dreadfully well, but he's a professional, he understood our position," he said. (this is our chairman mind, he's supposed to have a strong working relationship with the manager.

"We haven't paid it and at this stage have no intention of paying it, until certain negotiations come to fruition.

As usual, full of bull shit

Dalman admitted he is unable to offer Cardiff fans assurances that the embargo will be lifted by January, a situation that has been relayed to manager Mark Hudson.

"Should fans be worried we won't be able to buy anyone in January? Yes and no," Dalman said.

"We certainly would like to add more players, the manager is keen to do that and we've told him to plan accordingly because we believe this is temporary not permanent.

"But of course it is unpredictable."

Dalman added that Hudson was "understanding but "not happy," when told the news.

"I don't know Mark dreadfully well, but he's a professional, he understood our position," he said.

"He didn't necessarily like it. But we have told him to get his targets in place."

Hudson says he is prepared for a possible embargo.

"I trust the players I have got. If we are in an embargo throughout January then this is our team, if not, we will see," he said.

"We've spoken briefly to the players about where we are.

"But I have full faith and trust in this group."

None of us should be surprised about this Embargo.

We have been told the money has been set aside. So we are given the impression we are safe. How many of us are feeling safe now? In fact how many of us believe this board? I will be gob smacked if even the diehards believe in them now. The word liars is associated with them now.

The language coming from Hudson was there to all to see. Hudson is in big danger of losing his status with us all and the question I have for him is "Was it all worth it"?

I hope I'm wrong but we are heading towards League One. That actually is not bothering me. What's bothering me is we are going to be stuck with Tan while venturing into this lower league.

Great questions.

Unlikely to get any sort of answer from the hierarchy at the club unfortunately.

The sad thing is is that it’s us fans who suffer. Our fans were here a long time before tan and will be here a long time afterwards (if he hasn’t managed to get the club wound up by then). The least they can do is give us some honesty, we’ve all paid more than enough to that football club to at least deserve the truth. To Tan we aren’t fans, we are customers.

I’ve only been to the Pompey and Blackburn games this season and won’t be going again until Tan has gone. Yesterdays opponents have a history of a bad relationship with their owner, they united and forced him out. What are we doing? Arguing with each other on a messageboard.

This isn’t Cardiff City for me anymore. Tan, Dalman and Choo have ripped the soul from this club and we’ve just allowed them to do it. Too many customers have been blinded by the premier league lights. We were lucky under Warnock and he sacked the only other successful manager that he has appointed.

Lol, what we do have is a stubborn owner.

Now I'm not saying Tan wants us in League One but if we end up there he will hang around just to p**s us all off.

Never get it when people say that , he needs us in the premier league to get anything back on his investment.

Yes but do you think his actions are going to get us back in the Premier?

Just look what has happened over the last couple of seasons. All our big wage players have gone and we have signed 3 year contracts on the cheap. For me the best we are going to be is a yo yo club between League One and the Championship. Unless there is another Neil Warnock out there that is the way its going to go.

We had this conversation plenty of times before warnock came in , its fine margins ain't it .

Chelsea also had a two or three window ban, its not unique to us.

https://www.espn.co.uk/football/blog/ma ... t%20months.

I do agree, though, the club needs to provide fans with clarity. Although I don't expect it based on the lack of transparency over the past few years.

Chelsea had World Class players to see them through that, we have not and a few on loan who will leave at the end of the season.

Any signings embargo to any club as an effect it's just relevant effect? Imagine if Chelsea couldn't sign anyone for at least season soon lag behind top teams player wise... its important for club to get this ban lifted.... can sign players but may not be able to sign the players we want.

Shane there wasn’t an embargo when we were thinking about signing Sawyers

Just got a call . Apparently Dalman met with the “fans leaders” and gave a full account of the embargo . Apparently those “leaders” were quite understanding and supportive of the Club’s actions. Those leaders will now explain the situation to the rest of the normal fans .
Well - if this is true - then hopefully we will now have a clear honest picture as to what is happening and what we are doing about.
