Callum O'Dowda says the pull of being at home in front of

Callum O'Dowda says the pull of being at home in front of his own supporters should help Cardiff in their quest to beat Blackpool on Saturday.

The Bluebirds picked up a valuable point on the road last weekend in Stoke, and the winger hopes they can go one better when the Tangerines arrive in south Wales on Saturday.

"It's going to be tough," the Republic of Ireland international said. "I was looking at the fixtures and we've got three games in the space of a week coming up, so everyone is going to be needed.

"As players, it is tough on the bodies, but you wouldn't want it any other way, to be honest. The more games, the better.

"We need to go into the game positive, similar to how we were in the second half against Stoke. I'd say overall it was a positive display. The subs made such a difference, and second half I thought we dominated the game.

"We've been watching a few clips of them. Considering how they were last season, I know they're a tough team to beat. No game is easy in the Championship, everyone has got a fight within them.

"I feel better playing at home, with the home fans. They are the surroundings that we're used to, and we're due something. I know we've been a bit unfortunate over the last couple of months, and it's been quite hard to pick up a bit of momentum.

"But, going into these two games, especially at home, it will be beneficial to us. You can't give up at all, you can't lose concentration - you've just got to keep fighting."

O'Dowda started the season brightly but his form has dropped off a little recently probably not helped by switching positions between wing and full back/wing back in most games he's played.Really hope he can rediscover his early season form.

The recent home form has been poor though and needs a big improvement if we are to pull clear of the bottom three.

There may be three games in a week but at least most of the squad have just had the best part of a month's rest from competitive football so I hope there's no suggestion of tiredness over the next few weeks!

Why are we using our best wide player as a wingback/ leftback? Surely got another player to play there? No wonder we're slow going forward... not the only failings of Hudson when picking players...:?

Yes probably bad at home because he insists on playing same way home or away which does not work... I'm afraid Hudson's inability to utilise players to benefit team is going to cost us relegation ..

Yes more supportive away! Problem we got is although close in league two wins and safe midtable cannot see us winning two games in row? Living hand in mouth win tomorrow but lose game after and in same position... playing players out of best position is not very helpful also praising players but then not playing them or only giving them just 10 mins is madness.

I think we are on the verge of something. Squad looked the part start of season just no striker.

Said it several times it's not about the striker as such it's about the team scoring? If Scored 6 more goals be mid table with what other teams have scored... by same token those 6 goals could mean numerous points as we tend to lose by a one goal margin.... we wouldn't be in relegation trouble.... playing with one striker is a Hudson trait and its simply detrimental to our goal scoring... lost confidence in his ability to get results just because he wont go for a result preferring to play safety 1st even at home

If we had Robinson start of season we would be in a different place now. We were a win from going top early on. Confidence is key and we are now lacking it.

The question is where is that striker going to come from?

There isn't a good enough striker at the club to support Robinson who isn't really a centre forward.

Etete is beginning to show a bit of promise but we really need a more proven goalscorer rather than a "project" in our current position.

Unlikely to be much money available in January (if any!) to get a decent striker in so I suppose we have to hope that Hudson can pull a loan rabbit out of the hat like Morison did with Hugill and to a lesser extent Uche last season.

The confidence factor is Hudson? He doesn't appear to have enough confidence in the team to attack teams when we are on top.... huddersfield prime example winning easily then decided to keep same eleven even though they changed tactics Hudson didn't do anything to counter it.... Been same in plenty of games? He needs to trust his players to get a result not hold them Back hoping to get a result.
