ITV pundit Aaron McLean believes Mark Hudson's side showed good character to come back and earn a draw at Stoke, but believes the Bluebirds boss 'won't accept' the sloppiness which saw them relinquish the lead early on.

Cardiff went ahead through Ryan Wintle but then conceded two goals in the next 12 minutes to fall behind, before Callum Robinson netted the equaliser before the hour mark.

"Mark Hudson has now been permanently appointed. He will look at this game and he will learn a lot," the former Peterborough United and Hull City forward said on ITV's EFL highlights show.

"Going 1-0 up and then taking their foot off the gas. I don't think that's something that he will accept moving forward. But it's early stages and I think he still wants to put his stamp on things.

"But they showed real character to come back into things, get the equaliser and they could have potentially gone on and won the game. There are pleasing parts to it, but for both teams, trying to move away from the bottom of the division, they will be happy with the point."
