MY VIEW: GREAT START BY CARDIFF / FIRST 10 MINS ALL CITY /

Sat Dec 10, 2022 4:52 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

GREAT START BY CARDIFF / FIRST 10 MINS ALL CITY / BUT THEN STOKE TOOK OVER UNTIL MANAGER MARK HUDSON DID A TRIPLE SUBS & IT COULD OF BEEN A CARDIFF WIN.

Over all 2-2 a fair result

2 good penalty appeals by Stoke, Ref was a Bluebird today  :bluebird: :bluebird:

Surely Hudson can see Robinson is not a lone striker?
We changed big time once Etete & Harris joined him.

City the lowest scorers in the Championship, managed two good goals today.

A point away is good, now win our home games, next Blackpool home :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Stoke are very poor and City should of taken the 3pts.

FIRST-HALF: Cardiff had a great start 6th min:
An absolute stonker of a pass from Nkounkou to Gavin Whyte in the build-up. A volleyed pass right across the pitch into the winger's path on the other side of the box.

Whyte pulls it back, Romeo leaves it and Wintle produces a top finish, slotting in from the edge of the box. 0-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

BUT: 11th min: GOAL! Stoke City 1-1 Cardiff City (Campbell 11)
Stoke level.
18th min: GOAL! Stoke City 2-1 Cardiff City (Delap 18)
Goal. Stoke ahead.

Stoke had 2 good claims for 2 penalties.

SECOND-HALF: 55th min: Triple sub Nkounkou, Rinomhota, Ralls off. Sawyers, Etete and Harris on.
58th min: GOAL! Stoke City 2-2 Cardiff City (Robinson 58) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
Robinson scores! Level!
City came alive and were all over Stoke :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Allsop, Romeo, Ng, Kipre, Nkounkou; Wintle, Ralls, Rinomhota; O'Dowda, Robinson, Whyte.

Subs: Alnwick, Simpson, Sawyers, Ojo, Colwill, Etete, Harris.

6th min: GOAL! Stoke City 0-1 Cardiff City (Wintle 6)
GOAL! Wintle! :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

An absolute stonker of a pass from Nkounkou to Gavin Whyte in the build-up. A volleyed pass right across the pitch into the winger's path on the other side of the box.

GOAL! Stoke City 1-1 Cardiff City (Campbell 11)
Stoke level.

Josh Tymon cuts inside from the left and feeds Campbell in the box. He swivels and hits it left-footed, through Nkounkou's legs, and into the bottom corner.

GOAL! Stoke City 2-1 Cardiff City (Delap 18)
Goal. Stoke ahead.
Campbell blasts a shot from outside the box, it hits Joe Ralls in the arm and spins into Delap's path just a couple of yards from goal. He taps in easily.

38th min: Big penalty shout as Kipre brings down Delap. Looks like Cardiff got away with one.

41st min: Oh wow. Another massive penalty claim. Kipre on Delap again. Kipre throws all his weight into him this time and knocks him to the ground. Andy Woolmer says no again.

It could of been more after such a good start

H-T 2-1

Nkounkou booked for pulling down Will Smallbone on the far side.

55th Min: Triple sub

Nkounkou, Rinomhota, Ralls off.

Sawyers, Etete and Harris on.

58th min: GOAL! Stoke City 2-2 Cardiff City (Robinson 58) :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
Robinson scores! Level!

Kion Etete makes an instant impact. He flicks the ball around the corner to Romeo and then latches on to his cross, putting it into Callum Robinson's path and he smashes home!

86th min: Rubin Colwill came on for Gavin Whyte.

Very important point. If we are to stay up we have to pick up draws in games like this. Too many defeats so far and we have to be harder to beat. Great impact from Etete when he came on. He is not the finished product but he adds important height and was handful when he came on. We have to be patient but when he gets a goal I think we may have a real prospect in the second half of the season.

Thought we played some decent stuff and we were well worth the point. Credit to Hudson for making positive subs to change the game.

Etete did some nice touches and link up play and Harris kept getting the better of their full back down the right.

I thought Gavin Whyte put in a good performance, getting involved and contributing far more than Ojo would have.

Hopefully, a few January signings to address certain areas will see us improve and climb the table.
