L. MODRIC Bale's X team mate what a player gives 120% for club and Country 37 years of age hope Bale is embarrassed watching him doubt it he's proberbly more interested in his golf and how much more money he can con out of LA Galaxy while sitting on the bench. BALE may have Been good in the past for Wales but MODRIC showed his devotion to his Country when needed. How we could have done with a player like him a credit to his team and Country.

Was thinking the same last week when Wales went out - It's not about age but fitness with players over 30 + .
Modric came to mind and then there is Messi along with a few more ...

We all know GB gives 100% for wales but can you honestly say in past 6 or 7 games hes been able to give 100%? More like 40% but as with all star players that as been enough to help team but not in this WC...... in fact you can say he's been an hindrance by having him on pitch hes been that poor! But like I've said get proper fitness and game time he can go on to next world cup just like the other 5 or 6 37yr olds in this WC.. the OP has a point about watching modric ect it shows what can achieve if you concentrate on fitness and GB can certainly learn from his former team mate.

I agree entirely with Pembroke Allen that GB has given his all for many years, but he WAS a disaster in the World Cup. I also agree that he will still have a lot to give over the next few years if he gets fit. The same applies to Ramsey, and I would really love to see them both at the City despite their recent performances in the WC (World Cup that is!!). They could do a great job if they knuckled down.

I mean that’s not what the OP hinted at. What I could make sense of round the horrific spelling and misinformation (LA Galaxy).
The poster should be embarrassed.

La galaxy more well known!

his point is if GB followed modric and other oap players attitude to WC he wouldn't have been totally unfit like he was? Maybe wasnt what he hinted at but the fact remains he did nothing from time left "REAL" to be fit? LA manager wouldn't play him as not fit and that continued with his time there.... cundy was right in his point that he should have cone to ncastle or city a totally different set up to MLS that's for sure... be interesting to see what he does in January as hinted he may not stay at LA .... perhaps he's seen the error of his move to LA footballing wise? Certainly needs to do something if hes not going to be a bit part player for Wales next qualifiers.

I never said Bale had not given his all over the years but not in the world CUP.He was not fit made little effort to get fit just wanted to say Iv played in the World Cup. You would have thought that as this was going to be his last chance to appear in a World Cup he would have made a really big effort to get fit he dident.walking around a golf course at his own pace is not keeping fit. Im 75 and can still do 18 holes of golf in my own time .

All players age at a different pace. Also, Bale wasn't 100% fit. He's been amazing for us, in my view He's the greatest Welsh player of all time, always gives 100% and can do no wrong.

I appreciate what Bale has done for Wales. The Cardiff situation in the summer really annoyed me tho, not cooling off speculation and the LA top on our training ground etc... But Bale is a different type of player to Modric and Messi etc.. He use to rely on burst, speed etc.. The later two have always been more technical players which can adapt more as they age, similar to Giggs, Pirlo etc.. Bale was all speed, burst, power which you lose as you age.

Bale always give 100% but sadly his legs have gone and he will have to adapt his game .his game was always about pace he's lost that now .

Modric played a central role like Messi where speed is secondary. Let the young ones do the running. For me it look like we expected Bale to use the speed he did not have anymore. Perhaps if we played him in a central role we would have seen more from him.

Great shout. Striker or centre mid might work a dream.

GB is an intelligent player who can open up defences with his passing ability .. so yes there is place for him as long as page doesnt play him as a defensive midfielder which he seems to have done for quite a few games now... central midfield would suit him with Rambo and two young workhorses covering defence.... but I'm not to sure page will adopt such tactics as WC showed nothing was taken into account of bales or Rambo lack of fitness in formation used

Modric could end up player of the tournament he has been fantastic along with that brilliant Maroccan midfielder who has an engine like no other. What is his name ?

Bale will give everything he can for Wales that, is not in doubt.
The problem is he has ruined his career by not playing any football for the last five years.
If he had made a move from Madrid and continued playing at a slightly lower level he would have maintained some fitness and kept his mind and footballing reactions up to speed.
He took the time out and took the money and his body has slowed down and he won't be able to get it back now after so long not playing. He's made a fortune and decisions based on financial gain so will retire a very wealthy man, but he could have done much better in the last World Cup if he had made the choice based on maintaining his fitness and football standards rather than maximising income potential and holding Madrid to that massive contract.
