Pompey were in the Grange end and a few hundred in block f of the grandstand
Cardiff fans in the enclosure below ran underneath them up the stairs and charged into them
They had the shock of their lives that day

One of my mates was in the enclosure that day and had a whack and a kick off a few Pompey at the top of the steps when Cardiff attempted to get amongst Pompey
I mentioned this before and someone contradicted me saying that it couldn’t Jane happened as Cardiff didn’t get in the grandstand. I saw it with my own eyes that they got to the top of the steps, there was a few scuffles and then the police came and split them up.

Was that the 84 game, or 82? Remember Pompey getting a good whacking in the Canton Stand in 82.. but at least they turned up. Also remember they’d parked in the Ninian pub car park in 84.. transit van that was turned over on its side. Petrol pissing out and DH persuaded not to strike a match to it. Mainly cos the vapour would take his eyebrows off..
