Tasty one at Hillsborough
Sheffield Wednesday and Newcastle United were meeting in the Championship not long ago, now they'll face off in the third round.
It should be a cracking atmosphere in Yorkshire.

An entertaining draw considering we never go deep in the cups these days but not quite the excitement of the draw before that famous / infamous game.

I agree, but I will def be flying back for it, love it when there’s a great atmosphere as nowadays it’s like a library at the CCS.

Looking st he draw championship clubs should be putting out strong sides as there are fair few all premier league clashes... which means better chance going further in cup for lesser clubs.

A great draw for those of a certain vintage...
They'll bring a very good support and our lot will surely be at our vocal best...
Looking forward to this one and (sadly) the only thing missing will be a certain person walking around the pitch...
But who is to say we can't sing it anyway...?!?!

Ermm Sam put us into a fire sale, don’t think he’s needed to Stoke any fires.

I don't see it wholly like that but I can see where you are coming from...
However, Sam was far from the worst owner in my time as a supporter and he certainly brought the best times
I feel sure he has regrets but it is what it is and on the day concerned, he helped stoke up a fire that saw us knock out the Premier League leaders from the FA Cup; and days like those are what made this club and its (old) ground a fearsome place to visit...

Agreed, not the worst owner. One of the best. Stiched up by Ridsdale and the rugby Tafia developers.

Why?
Don't get me wrong, I would like it to be as I would then get to watch the game, but why does it have to be?

I didn't say that there wasn't history. My question was why it has to be 1 of the tv games, I get that there is history between the 2 teams as far as we & Leeds are concerned but does the rest of the country care enough about the history for it to be a live game.
I would love the game to be on tv as I can then watch it but because it's part of ours & Leeds history the question remains, why does it "have to be" on tv ? Is that history enough? Here's hoping it is.

There's history meaning good crowd participation between both sets of fans, making a good television spectacle. Also, the early FA cup rounds are about giant killings. Making this game a good choice, but are Leeds a giant compared to us...
