These pampered European footballers are. Getting a nice wake up call over in Qatar.. Great to watch too.. Belgium started their walking football well before retirement.. Loving this world cup.. Its not the norm but its exciting.. As for the fans.. Thank god for the colorful South Americans.. Africans and Arabs.. Loving it

Put out ealier several top teams at risk of going out not only Europe ones just because they've lost to lesser nations... makes pages tactics even more harder to understand if costa Rica can get 3 points with one shot on target in 2 games got to be something amiss with us.

Two things have struck me about this world cup, athletism and teamwork, two things we have relied on in years gone by.

The reffing has allowed contact and teams with a super high hard press and capable of it are succeeding. Some of them are quite direct and i am loving it.

Its a tournament too far for so many, its amazing. Yesterday, Messi looked like when one of your mates made up the numbers in parks football, he banged in a beauty but he just walked around the pitch, but he has better quality mates around him than Gareth Bale, so he was able to get away with it, but they won't be staying long in Qatar either.

France looks very good though and their superstar in barely 23 !!!!

We are very pedestrian compared to most teams and thats cost us dearly... the refs while Been quite good standing no nonsense resulting in less fouling especially the rugby scrums you see in uk? One criticism is giving yellow cards out ...
Seem to readily do it for t slight contact from behind but tackles like what we saw iran do go unpunished not even a foul! But it's been really good football and very watchable. Even var as not been to bad especially offside

There are 8 groups, 7 of which have a European team in first place at time of writing this (the only group that doesn't is Brazil's group)

Yes european power houses where you expect them to be but Belgium and Germany name two are at risk of being eliminated probably survive but not playing great. Brazil probably top any group regardless of who's in it... :D
