Laura McAllister

On Telly this morning complaining about her treatment for wearing a rainbow hat and refused entry to the stadium unless it was taken off.
Why would you go to this great Welsh occasion and put a rainbow hat on instead of a bucket hat :banghead:
Some people are self self self in my opinion.

It did seem like a provocational pursuit - getting the whole thing filmed despite knowing the score with LGBT situation over there.

I see a US journo pulled a similar stunt.

How quick will any of these folk be to cry wolf if the Qatari's pull out the full force of their legal system.

I know we are a soft touch with visitors etc but that doesn't mean folk can go into other's backyard and play silly buggers and openly try to flout the law and provoke people who are merely doing their jobs within their own country's legal or regulatory framework.

Yes a rainbow bucket hat, nothing to do with Wales.

She has clearly gone over with an agenda, which I like the rest of you don’t agree with, especially the way she has gone about it.

But/however

It’s been said on here before, Tan should approach her as DOF

She knows her sport and especially football inside out, is a very educated, knowledgeable, articulate and connected individual and not just in the wales set up. A Cardiff fan that would set out a defined blueprint for the future.

It’s a shame though as whilst Dalman is financially tied to the club I don’t think we will ever see a DOF here.

The world may have a beef about their human rights record but to deliberately go out to provoke a reaction doesnt serve any purpose except their own ego..... if hat had the wales colours with extra rainbow stripe within it can claim it's a welsh bucket hat but as was entirely a rainbow hat it was nothing to do with Wales it was a lbgt+ symbol used in pride marches.

Totally agree, it’s all getting a bit pathetic and cringeworthy now

What started off as a just and genuinely worthwhile campaign is quickly turning into a bunch of self publicity seeking people deliberately trying to provoke the Qatar authorities

Perhaps someone should remind her this is a football competition not a pride rally

Bang on. It’s a gay pride hat with a f*cking FAW badge sewn on. Getting very tired with the rainbow flag lot and their continued assault on football. If you’re gay snd want to watch a game f*cking crack on without all the political nonsense

Jumping on the football bandwagon that's all! All countries have some kind of restrictions on people who live in that country ? All the problems were there before awarded WC bit late to bang on about it during games its making the situation worse .....unfortunately you cannot take politics out of sport but what can do is not let it take over the event like they are trying to do now ... dare say when it goes to usa Canada next time there will be stuff around Inuit rights in Canada and sure find something about USA to protest about....

Very true whats annoying is she is supposed to be an ambassador for faw but staging a set up to get reaction from security personnel is not right because at end day it reflects on the other welsh fans in Qatar and their interaction with qatari authorities people...

Luckily her mate was there with the smartphone camera rolling.

Who decides the political direction of the fanbase or media ?

It's all a bit pointless, Fifa and Qatar don't give one. Both are medieval and corrupt.

That's what makes it a set up she was far enough away from security as not to be noticed while she filmed... and no they dont give a toss as to what's been said as we've seen... and nothing in Qatar will change after WC.

Fifa as now instructed all venues to let in people with rainbow parafinalia? Wonder what else they will complain about now this issue as been resolved.

Ambassadors don’t normally behave in such amateur fashion. She’s little more than a media stooge.

TBH I knew very little about her, she always pops up on football issues and local political shows. It turns out she has never had a job outside the public or education sector and was a Plaid candidate.......So thats a no from me.

Jesus Christ......how ignorant have we become??? Take a long hard look at yourselves before you start throwing stones!!!

I've tried to keep my powder dry on this thread but feel the need to state my case.

Lal is a very good friend of mine, and whilst I don't agree with all her politics, I know for a fact that she stands up for truth, justice and Wales. She was a CCFC season ticket holder before most of you were in nappies......fact.

It is obvious that she is trying to highlight the LGBT stuff, which I think she is mistaken, but FFS, don't deride her based on your own prejudices.

She is a Professor for a reason, she has studied hard, over many years, and come to her own conclusions. That's fine, if you want to debate it with her I'm sure she would find a convenient time.

This board is about debate, as Annis will always fight for, but to have a cheap shot at someone for standing up for their believes is lame. :bluebird:

Hanged Man.. good. Ask her to come on so we can debate. She won’t need the camera.
