‘ Outstanding Cardiff City player not returning’

Sun Nov 20, 2022 8:22 pm

Sheff Weds boss Darren Moore a big fan of Cardiff’s Mark McGuinness. No recall option in Jan. Moore said: “I was Really surprised he was available and they allowed us a whole season.”
"He was poised to go to another club. We are seeing he’s technically good on the ball but equally strong defending.”

Cardiff’s Mark McGuiness is a the fans favourite st Sheffield Wednesday and has been outstanding this season.

Cardiff never put a January recall for him in the contract, so he won’t be returning this season.

This reminds me of the Ryan Wintle scenario with Blackpool, what the hell do the Transfer Committee know, they are so incompetent,

How so? Wintle returned in January.

Although I did feel McGuinness is better than Nelson.

Yep another mistake by the committee. :laughing6:

Wintle being let go was a McCarthy decision. McCarthy was an idiot.

I've said previously a player may not play to full potential for a team but send him elsewhere and all of a sudden hes a world beater? It happens frequently in fact many times a season...

Because Steve Bruce was running the show and just look where he took Albion and his mate is a Director of Albion and he never rated him that’s why they were in their way down.

And last season with us and in my opinion he was getting better and better.

There were many on here and in the stadium who praised him last season very highly.

I didn’t understand the stick McGuinness got. I thought he played well last season for most of it.

It was said he couldn’t play the way Morison wanted us to play with building from the back. Not many defenders can and I’m glad. I want defenders to defend. McG was quite good at that.

Now that Shaun Morrison has returned I think Mark McGuinness is better off staying at Sheffield Wednesday improving his game and confidence ready to play for us next season.
