I can’t stress this point loudly enough! Welsh Rugby is on it’s arse and Welsh Football maybe at it’s highest point in it’s history. Any smart businessman if they owned CCFC would be cashing in on the brilliant PR done by

True there's a feel good factor in football in Wales
With cymru and Wrexham
And then there's cardiff ffs driving fans away

They are in limbo too young to retire but not
fit enough to play at top level consistently? Bale could stay in usa building his buisness empire but at expense of playing career.... Ramsey surely needs to do better than nice? Both still got lot to offer Wales next taunement but need to be sorted playing wise before then

Very true... the feelgood factor across Wales as a whole, yet, the regime sow the seeds of consistent despondency.
And, the majority of Cardiff fans can see it a mile off.

Explain your logic there, barnet blue?
Wales as a football nation is not Cardiff; it's also Swansea, Newport, Wrexham and all points in between
The machinations and costs of creating a successful league football team are huge in comparison to putting together a squad of individuals who just happen to be born (in the main) in the same country
No big 'costs' in putting together and international team and the consequences of getting it wrong are not so great either...

Everyone I know who has gone to the world cup are football fans not Cardiff City fans. 2 support Liverpool and the other united. All went to the CCS to watch us in the premier league to see their team play us (in our stands). All the CCFC fans are in Tenerife
Core rugby fans like their football equivalents would rather go blind than watch football and the day trippers are just that day trippers, we see them begging for tickets to an event then it's just a piss up. FA cup final or Autumn/ 6 nations internationals
We need to get the 8~12 year olds with next-to-nothing tickets and hook them in early.

There are exceptions to this. But I see a very much north south split.
Much of the drive to “nationalise” the welsh side comes from those in the north. But with the Exception of Wrexham fans it seems they mostly follow sides like Man U and Liverpool.
South Wales, despite the dire performances I’d still a Welsh national side stronghold but most will always support wales in any sport.
Im not sure welsh success will translate to particularly more fans for us the jacks or county.
Controversial but I think Englands success may do but not for what you think. The women’s team. Anecdotal I know. But I’m hearing so many people uninterested in football starting to take their daughters to see the women play.
So personally I think there is a lot to be said for supporting the women and helping them grow so those girls can see there is a route to play at a high level and support their club too.
