Should we pull out last minute?

Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:56 am

A silent majority believe we should.

In the beginning I was not too sure about the WC being held in Qatar due to its Human Rights record. I'll go a bit further and say ownership of our football clubs by such cultures out there should be banned. It is not the locals I'm against but the authorities who run their people with an iron fist. Authorities that don't follow their own peoples cultures but use it to suit their own greedy agendas.

So, of late we have seen some of the real light. Banning of alcohol near the stadiums and fake fan crowds. English fans all with suntans gives that away. Then we have had to suffer that speech from FIFA top guy followed by another top guy who is gay but supporting his President therefore endorsing Qatar who throw his type of people in prison. A foot has not been kick yet but its already the most controversial WC ever.

With a fair number of celebrities turning their backs on the competition should we as fans do the same?

The beer thing should have been the battle. If the big countries like Germany, England, France, Dutch, Spain, and the 2 south American giants said this is crap for our fans we are out, then there would have been a big back down.

Faux rage and virtual signaling are all that these associations are about though

Does anyone actually believe they will change anything once WC is over? Not in the slightest except one or two leaders with own agendas back home.. but you would suspect such countries like Qatar will find it more difficult to attract events without very large bribes to organisations.
