Why? He owns ground but not club..... new owner wanted to buy ground....so unless he plans to buy club makes it no sense..

Probably because he paid 17m but 25m was taked about? Football is rotten to the core with dodgy dealings regarding buying selling of clubs

Someone needs to explain why an offer of 25m suddenly turns into a sale for 17m .... By law suppose to get best deal for creditors losing 8m doesn't go anywhere near doing that. Regardless of who had doubts about funding the bid a chance should have been made to put forward the bid?

Coz the court date deadline had passed and basically Mike Ashley bought the stadium company out at the 11th hour .there wasn't enough time for the new bid.

Yes wez knew this but if its value was 25m why did he get it for 17m
couple days later presumably nothing had changed? Smacks of a derby buys for 85m sells for 22m! Doesnt sound right whichever way you look at it..

What a mess that situation is.
It’s difficult to think that FA/EFL rules didn’t prevent it from happening. I know rules changed now but imagine Tan “selling” the club but keeping the ground. Also makes a nonsense of the financial Accounting of stadiums which crops up on threads here fairly often. Really who is going to buy a stadium other the club itself ? Unless the club, stupidly, agrees to pay a rent of more than makes sense?

Coventry's problem started many years ago not sure why they sold stadium in 1st place but it made them homeless twice .
.
The problem with stadiums is they are on prime land so nice earners.... started long time ago this practice of selling off clubs assets whether be ground or land leaves clubs very vulnerable ... due diligence is not very diligent that's for sure.
