Cardiff City winger Callum O'Dowda has branded the Bluebirds

Cardiff City winger Callum O'Dowda has branded the Bluebirds' recent home performances "nowhere near" the required standard after the latest defeat by Sheffield United.

The Bluebirds lost back-to-back home games against Hull City and the Blades as they head into the World Cup break, which leaves them in 19th place and one point off the relegation zone.

In an honest post on social media, O'Dowda said the Bluebirds are performance below what they are capable of.

"Deserved something from yesterday and frustrated we didn’t get any points from our last home games," he wrote on Instagram.

"Nowhere near what we’re capable of and the standards we’ve set, so it’s a good time to reflect and get back hungry to push up the table after the World Cup."

Striker Callum Robison waded in with: "Disappointing not to go into the break with a result. Important now we work hard over this period to make sure we come back fighting when we return."

Niels Nkounkou wrote: "We will work harder during the break to get the results we need."
