A forum for all things Cardiff City

Mark Hudson was expected to sign an 18-month contract at Cardiff City before kick off today.
The former Bluebirds skipper was haggling over an extended agreement - after being initially being offered a deal until the end of this season.
Hudson was arguing he needed to re-locate his family from the North - Cardiff's owner Vincent Tan has agreed to the demands of the ex-Charlton centre back.
However, this afternoon's 1-0 defeat to injury-crippled new Championship leaders Sheffield United - a fifth home league reverse of the season - means Cardiff, the lowest scorers in British soccer's second tier, have lost six out of their last eight matches under Hudson.
Unless there is a successful squad re-shuffle in January - with another major striker drafted - Cardiff are hurtling towards the third tier of British football after absence of 19 years.

I find this unbelievable. Why why why .completely the wrong decision

Looking at the results it's hard to know what he would have had to do NOT to get the job?
It's quite difficult to get worse than 6 points from 24.
Has an interim manager with a worse record EVER been given the full time job?

There is only so much goodwill that can be given...
The fact we dont seem to have a target man of any description - is the only problem for me. The rest of them are fine - both geting stuck in and ability. They just seem a bit short on confidence. This is worrying as the chances of finding a decent striker in the Jan window is just about zero.
Hudson doesnt have the nous of a Warnock type turn that team in wonders. Which is very worrying for me - as I can see us having a real struggle with relegation after today

Proves Tan has absolutely no understanding of football.

I'd say he is pragmatic, nether Morison or Hudson are the answer,he needs experienced Mgr with modern outlook like David Warner .

A good experienced coach will get this squad playing better, Tan should put his hand in his pocket and get someone in that could do this. Someone of Chrissy Wilders ilk, money is there so don't believe that it isn't.

Do you think he'd ever employ such a manager?
He seems to be looking for only one characteristic at the moment - they have to be cheap.

He is like a budgie...cheap cheap cheap

Easy to criticise an owner for being “cheap” when it’s not your money you are haemorrhaging week in week out.
The money we’ve wasted on players in recent seasons is eye watering - Warnock in particular was terrible with money to spend.

He may be offered and sign a 18 month contract but he will be gone in the new year when we fall into the bottom 3. More money for Tan to pay out.

Nice bloke and his staff but he will be gone in January because if he stays we will be in division 1.
He talks the same drivel after every match and nothing changes it’s frightening to think who he will bring in if allowed to stay in January.
A manager with no experience, tactics or nouse it’s not looking good.
This is the man who scored from the half way line all them years ago after most of the stadium shouted SHOOT and he was going to pass it.
Experienced man needs to come in before we can’t stop the rot.

last hope Tan used a pen with invisible ink.

So, to be clear, Huds has signed an 18 month contract rather than one to the end of the season...?
Wez seems to think this the case and if correct it's not a good decision by the hierarchy as things stand

I like Hudson but 18 month contract after losing 6 of last 8 is baffling. We'll end up changing him and paying him pff and his assistant will be the next manager. The board needs footballing people on there badly

Nice bloke hudson apparently soft spoken on camera but so is whispering bob harris
but would not let him manage a footie team likewise with hudson another catetaker given the job
be someone on the turnstiles offered the job in january or a steward or possible the guy on the tannoy
he shouts with some enthusiasm which seems to be more than what our defensive coach is doing
Nkoukou is not learning from our defensive coach either we are gettung ourselves into a shocking state in and off the field

Football novices in charge.
Hudson brought Colwill on then played him out wide again.

If theres one criticism I have of Hudson is he doesnt correct failings in our play.... notably failure to either shoot when in good positions or cross the ball when they can This is every game occurrence yet it's not being addressed
