In terms of your club and your country, which do you prefer?

Sat Nov 12, 2022 10:19 am

FOOTBALL:

In terms of your club and your country, which do you prefer? Do you love them equally, or does it fluctuate between the two?

:bluebird: :bluebird:
For me it’s Club without a doubt first every time

And having 2 Cardiff players plus ex Cardiff players in the World Cup for Wales , makes it more exciting for me.

Good question

I’m probably 60/40 in favour of Country, I was going to say love them equally but Country just takes it by a whisker

imo a devisive question to ask in the first place why bother but only my opinion.

Club by a long shot. International football now only gets watched if there’s absolutely nothing else on. I find 99% of international matches boring for one reason or another, there’s either nothing on them so no one cares. There’s such a mismatch in team quality and when you get two big teams playing they seem more concerned with not losing than winning a game. Southgate a prime example with the players he has at hi disposal he should have would the the euros and last World Cup if he let his players off the lease.

Used to go to the all the wales games ups to euro 16 then all the glory boys jumped on. Much like the city preferred the lower leagues and the closer knit of more unified fans.

So this World Cup is no more than an unwelcome inconvenience to club football’s.

But I am a grumpy Sod. Lol n

Club everytime for me, I'd rather see cardiff win the Premier league than Wales win the world cup (although both would be beyond amazing)

if this is regards of football, i'm cardiff, i am for most of the year, the only time i enjoy international football is during a major tournament, other than that i hate international games on, find myself excited for the regular season to resume

When it comes down to choice and where you spend your time and money for me it will always be 100% following my club. Nothing against following your country cheering them on side by side with fellow Welshmen from other clubs but give me a pre season tour or an away day stood next to my own cheering on the Bloooooobirds no brainier.

I always thought it was club but I felt emotions at the Wales qualification game that I haven’t felt for years at a football game (equaliser in the Carling Cup Final being the last one !!).

Difficult call but probably club first but very proud of the Wales/Cymru football team too. Helps when we have a couple of players, and ex-players, going to the greatest tournament of the lot !!

I'll be happy when Cardiff win the Premier League & Wales win the world cup or the Euros, in the 70s, 80s & 90s it would have been for both to win a game.

50/50 for me. Being in the USA I will have my Welsh flag in the window on Nov 21st, wish me luck.

I always want them both to do well, but I guess it must be Cardiff. When wales lose I seem to get over it, but when it’s Cardiff I’m in a funk for a few days.
