:bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: “ MARK HUDSON UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS “ :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Mark Hudson goes in to the final game at home to Sheffield United after being offered the full-time managers job on the back of only 2 wins in City’s last 7 games (5 defeats) and losing at home to Hull City.

City need to win this game as they are hovering just above relegation.

Mark Hudson inching closer to agreeing deal to become Cardiff manager until the end of the season. Hopes for it to be wrapped up by Saturday.

Your situation?

I have been offered it until the end of the season. Which is great for the staff, players, everyone involved. Some clarity. It’s in the process of being drawn up.

It’s in the process of being drawn up. We are hoping it’s all done by Saturday I imagine.

Thursday 10th November 2022

Happy for Colwill and Harris?

What an achievement! As soon as the announcement was made I was straight on the phone to message them both. It’s huge for the football club and for Wales. We are glad to see Rubin back the other night. They both deserve it.

Hudson

MARK HUDSON:

Rubin has had his issues, timed it right?

Yeah. We would have liked it if he timed it a bit earlier. We are so happy for him and their families. Everyone involved. Now they have to go and perform on the biggest stage.

Sparky was still smiling from ear to ear, he couldn’t believe it. I told him he deserves it and so does Rubin.

We would have wanted Rubin back before, but he’s timed it right.

How many minutes Saturday for Rubin?

We knew where he was at. We didn’t want to push him beyond that. He will be in and around the squad come the weekend.

Yes, back from suspension, trained today. A split group - got the players and up and running again. There were three different groups today. They trained and are fine.

MARK HUDSON:

Philogene?

He has got an issue. He has got a hernia. He will miss the weekend.

He has had this issue for a while and he has been managing it with the physios. It’s been overloaded, which we knew. They’ve done well to find out what it is. If it is that, it won’t be too long.

We wanted to wait a little bit longer, but it is what it is. He has been really influential over those three games and we will have to see where he is. We wanted him available but it’s a bit too much and it’s put him in some discomfort.

Happy? Clarity?

Yeah, for everyone involved it is. I spoke to everyone this morning about it, now we can get our heads down and look forward, something which is important to all of us. The players were in good spirits.

MARK HUDSON:

What’s Vincent said about January?

We have spoken about January. We want to talk about the right personnel for the club. We have started planning for that. We will see where we are at.

We were planning for it anyway. I said earlier that we were planning for short, medium and long term for each player and the squad.

We have a plan for January as well which is good.

Not good losing in front of the owner!

No, absolutely not. Losing at home is never good. We’ve talked about that. We didn’t start well or manage the game well. We know we are learning. It wasn’t great. It’s something we have spoken about.

Sheff U?

They are a good team, under Heckingbottom. They have some good players. We have to be much better than we were on Tuesday night.

We want to go into the break on a high.

Re: MARK HUDSON:

Vincent Tan confirms that Mark Hudson has been offered the Cardiff City manager's job until the end of the season.

Vincent Tan:

"I think he can do a good job. We had a long chat today with him and Tom (Ramasut). They are of the understanding that they will do their very best to do a great job for this club," said Cardiff's owner.

"Who knows, maybe we can make it to the play-offs. And if we win those, we can be in the Premier League again. I'm a positive person and I believe it is possible."

Tan also said that he would support Hudson in the January transfer window, if necessary, but he stressed no more "stupid transfers that lost us a lot of money in the Premier League" would be happening again.

The Malaysian businessman, whose club sit in 14th place at time of writing, still harbours ambitions of the Bluebirds reaching the play-offs and, ultimately, the Premier League this season.

"The difference between us and Preston in sixth place is seven points," he added. "If they lose three and we win three we would be right up there. I'm a positive person and I have a positive outlook for this football club."

Re: MARK HUDSON:

MARK HUDSON:

"We are ambitious as a football club. We have ambitious players. Us as coaches are ambitious as well. If you compare the two performances from Sunderland to today, we weren't at our levels, ultimately.

"We had good discussions today. Ultimately, that's not the way we wanted to see today go. There are just a few little things to sort out.

"I'll probably speak to him a bit later. I'll speak to the board. I'll let them get on their way tonight and then there will be a few discussions within the next couple of days.

"He (Tan) has got a plan for the future. Which is good. It shows support. That's what the football club needs, we need everyone together heading in the right direction. The conversations were good."

Given Tan had waited more than three years to see the team he owns in the flesh, Cardiff put in a poor showing. They started the game terribly, briefly picked up after half-time but then two goals in two minutes from Regan Slater helped Hull come back to win it 3-2.

Hudson bemoaned his side's naivety in their defending for the three soft goals.

"We didn't play well in the first half. We spoke about it at half-time and started the second half well," he added. "Then we were naïve to a couple of moments in the game. Then gifted them the winner, which we've spoken about after.

"There's lots of things we need to learn, but we'll stick together to improve.

"We have had good consistency of performance up until today. The first half was a bit disjointed. Whether that was the personnel of the fixture list, we will look at it.

"We know we have got a tough one [against Sheffield United] on Saturday."

The crowds keep dropping, last night 16,357, it is becoming worrying how low they are becoming.

The atmosphere in the stadium swung from booing at half-time to excitement after taking the lead. However, by the end of the match, the crowd voiced their disgruntlement at what was ultimately a sub-par performance.

As discussed, I am chuffed for Rubin Colwill and Mark Harris being selected for the Wales WORLD CUP squad; an achievent many class players (Welsh or otherwise) never achieved

I wish them both well and hope they get at least some game time. This is an opportunity and a privilege that no one can ever take away from them... :ayatollah:

One player who will not be involved is Jaden Philogene.

The Aston Villa loanee is out with a sports hernia, a blow considering how well he had been playing up until the injury.

"He has got an issue," Hudson said. "He has got a sports hernia. He is off to see a specialist so he will miss the weekend.
