Sheji Ojo will be playing for Gillingham by 2024. His finishing is woeful. Not signing a striker and relying on Robinson alone will haunt Cardiff

Not sure Gillingham will want him to be honest.

That’ll do the boy’s confidence a world of good

Ten times beter than Watters and he's not a Striker, and he puts a shift in, he will probably get better in front of goal because he will keep working hard in improvement and he has a good attitude.

Ojo makes things happen, sometime he loses the ball but other times he beats a man and creates a chance. He isn't really there to score goals but we could do with a couple more from most of the squad at the moment

Exactly. If he was a regular scorer and rarely lost the ball he wouldn’t be playing at our level. Good player at this level.

He’s raw and sometimes clumsy but he has put in far more good performances than bad in his two stints so far here. On his day he can be a match winner.

Yup. Agree with that, consistency is the key with him I feel.

I find him so frustrating and was slightly disappointed when he resigned. But, he has undoubted quality at times, and for someone who was in Liverpool's first-team squad just lacks composure or concentration when it really matters.
I think he is a victim of the football fashion of the last four or five seasons of inverted wingers. I would love to see him be given a run of games as a left midfielder in an old-fashioned 442. Like O'Dowda he is not a wide forward he is an attacking midfielder, but we expect him to slot home chances like a striker.
Whilst i thnk O'Dowda is excellent as a wingback i don't think Sheji had the work rate if we flipped back to them.

Ojo on the whole has been decent and championship standard for me.

I agree he is inconsistent but we have a lot worse than him
I am 100% behind him

Me too. What do people expect?? Always puts a shift in. Often, when he gives the ball away, he's surrounded by 2 or 3 people. I really think we're about to click into a really good team and don't think we're far away from that now. A striker from Santa and we're a dangerous team.

Very harsh.

Been impressed with him in the 3 games I’ve seen.. and pleased with the squad generally. Think we’re heading the right way so credit to Morison and Hudson for that. Next steps forward are incremental without massive investment.

Why Gillingham?

And herein lies the problem why the players are petrified at home.
Josh Murphy was class at Norwich and terrified a pile of premier league right backs then the always city types got on his back and ruined his confidence.
I’m not saying he’s blameless but we don’t help our players at all.

I like Ojo, he makes things happen and I think has a high upside.

I'm not sure Gillingham would want him if they watched his "performance" tonight.

Are you sure about this?
What exactly did he make happen tonight?

Doesn't really explain why the same players perform so poorly away from home also. I actually think City fans give players plenty of support especially when they can see the player putting in 100% effort but there is also an obligation on the player.
When a player such as Murphy or Ojo appear to be lazy and disinterested it really doesn't help their cause.

Made two goals happen tonight in fairness - shame they were both for Hull.

When Ojo attacks a player they have no idea what he is going to do. That's because Ojo doesent know either. When he comes out with the ball having beating his man he's more surprised than anyone. How anyone can rate him as a championship player beats me. As for Ralls he should retire to walking football if he can keep up.

I reckon Ojo is working hard at becoming the new Leandro Bacuna.
Sun Nov 13, 2022 10:46 pm
Still feel there's a lack of pace in the middle...Ralls, Wintle, Song...decent players but can't get up the pitch quick enough to support any attack, or maybe aware of the lack of pace and afraid to commit themselves forward. Not often we get 3 or 4 players in the box on a counter attack, and by the time we do the opposition have 9 back.
