This week you criticised me for being negative re Colwill and to be fair I can understand this. But I pointed out that I thought he was a good player but his lack of involvement this year just made me frustrated. Therefore to hear our manager today say he’s now on the grass and hopes to have a few minutes before the World Cup makes me even more frustrated and angry. Yes I want him to do well for Wales but as a lifelong Cardiff city supporter it seems we are just preparing him for the world cup. He has barely played this year and should he come back injured from the tournament that will only add to my anger. I know players get injuries but come on players suffer much worse than this. Just an opinion Sven but not borne out of malice just sheer frustration. I wish Colwill well for the future. I believe him to be a real talent.

He I’m will no where near the match fitness or sharpness required for a World Cup so goes as a squad player at best. It’s one thing having a non Match-fit Bale or Ramsey but the rest need to be on it. We have put on a good show in all our international tournament appearances but i truly believe this is one too far for the current bunch and possibly we may fail to acquire a point in the group. We just don’t have the players.

Brezza, I genuinely appreciate that and you make some valid points, although I'm not sure a dedicated 'thread' was the platform...

I'm sure we all feel the frustration of both Rubin Colwill and Isaak Davies' absence, as both (IMHO) have the potential to be future 'greats', although that clearly still remains to be seen

The trials and tribulations of Rubin Colwill are well publicised, so I do get a little frustrated that we don't get behind him enough whilst he goes through his pains and develops

They say 'timing is everything' and it may appear that Colwill is being 'held back' for the World Cup but I just can't see it...

Firstly, is he 'guaranteed' a place? Secondly, surely he woukd be better placed if he got some minutes on the pitch before thecsquad is picked?

Or (as Something_Blue alluded to) do Wales simply not have the level players available to leave him out, even if not fully fit?

I don't know but the managers, coaches and medical staffs of both Wales and the Bluebirds will be in discussion

Again, personally, I hope (as a Bluebird) he goes; but equally (as stated elsewhere) I am not enough of an international 'fan' to let it be a major issue either way... :thumbright:

Your opinions and comments are respected. On a person level and a Bluebird I genuinely hope he doesn’t go to the World Cup and trains daily with the medical team on the grass’ preparing for the off for the first game on the resumption of the league. There is no point sitting on the bench abroad when he could be training.

‘If’ he is/was being held back for the World Cup I can understand the frustration but kind of also understand it and respect the Club for it, it could be his only ever chance to go to a World Cup so if the Club are giving him every opportunity to fulfil that dream then begrudgingly (from a Cardiff fan perspective) I respect it. On the flip side, if Rubin turns out to be a star hopefully that loyalty will be reciprocated somewhere down the line should he ever move on.

If we were a club with a squad for of lads going then you couldn’t do it but he’s the only one really in our squad who has a real chance to go, unless I’m missing somebody.

I think there should be a dedicated post to Chris (Sven). He is, by a country mile (no disrespect to the other great mods), the best moderator on this site and Annis is lucky to have him do such a role.

When it comes to Rubin, the jury is out. In my opinion he is paid by his employer, namely Cardiff City FC. As such that's where his loyalties should lay. If, as a club, we are preparing him to represent our country at the World Cup......this is a massive mistake. :bluebird:

Completely agree Jim, we've got one of the best forums out there and Chris does a superb job of keeping it on track, he invests a lot of time and thought in doing so too and it's appreciated by all of us. It only takes a couple of bad apples to derail and ruin it, as we saw when old Roathie was spouting his Narcissistic Personality Order crap which drove some decent posters away, as it was constant at a few stages. We also don't get so many obvious multis and oddballs on here now and long may it continue.

I’ve enjoyed good banter with a lot of the mods on here and it’s a thankless task looking after the forum and dealing with some of the dull, boring and less intelligent who just want to run the club and players down.

As for the ones who pop up with multi user names hmm
maybe they should continue to swipe right!
