Chuffed to be able to make this. Whitts was the best player we've had for years and deserves a big send off - imagine if Ronaldo or Messi had scored that goal against Barnsley; it would rightly have been called one of the best ever

I won't lie, I'm not looking forward to this event coming around. Whitts deserves a big crowd but reality is they're using it as an excuse for a first team friendly whilst the World Cup is on and it simply won't attract many fans. Would've been a lot better if former players were involved instead. Big shame.

The upside is that I understand the proceeds will go to the Whittingham family, so worth supporting by buying a ticket; even if, as some I know, you won't attend

That's the upside for sure, and why I will be attending.

Sadly I think the turnout will be very poor. There are still loads of empty seats and it looks like only some sections are open. I hope I'm wrong
