CARDIFF DESPERATELY NEEDED A WIN TODAY: AND THEY FOUGHT EVERY MINUTE FOR IT & DESERVEDLY GOT THE WIN.


Cardiff scored their first goal in 4 games.

City today stopped the rot and this was needed more than anything


CARDIFF STILL THE LOWEST SCORERS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND NEED TO SORT IT OUT AT FRONT STILL / BUT TONIGHT WE CAN CELEBRATE THE WIN.

3pts was everything today

Tom Sang was preferred to the returning Mahlon Romeo and striker Mark Harris preferred over striker Etete.





FIRST-HALF: 3rd min: Cardiff were by far the better side, BUT Same, same old story missing up front badly. Ojo tapped home but the official flagged for offside!

City wasted so many chances infront of goal and Ojo could not get it on target. City played some good football by City, but wasted in the final area.







SECOND-HALF: A bit of a boring start, then GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Rotherham United (Philogene 65)
GOAL! Lovely finish!

Ralls releases Harris down the left and he drives well into the box. He finds Ojo, who is tackled and it falls to Wintle, nicely, on the half volley, just eight yards or so from goal, but he smashes it over the bar! Cardiff will hope they don't live to rue that.

O'Dowda dID so well there. Skins his man and hits a hard, low cross. But it's an awkward height and Ojo stoops low to head it goalswards, six yards out, but it flicks off his head and wide of the target! Another big chance.

Philogene! Romeo blasts a cross to him and he takes it off Harris' feet. He dances with it to shake off three defenders and stick it in the top corner. Great finish from the Villa loanee.

Philogene hasn't set the world alight with his fleeting appearances but hopefully this goal will help him.

It's a game we should have expected to win and we did. But it means very little if we don't build on it.

I do think NG had a good game. He did take two shots in the game that ended up nowhere near the target but his determination, focus and passion made a difference to the game.

Fair play to Hudson.

I thought Sang had an excellent first half but Hudson changed it to become a more attacking threat.

It worked perfectly and although we should have scored more it was a great win.

How the hell are Rotherham above us. They were awful, offered nothing.

We got into lovely positions some excellent play but like most of season final ball poor or was wrong ball "eg"(Harris failing to pass to o'dowda who had open goal) and plain poor finishing like blast over bar from 6yrds how many times have these things happened this season? All we do is look dangerous but that's it.

Championship football is like rugby, you need to win the physical battle to enable your skilled players to shine. Championship football is a delicate balancing act of that. We easily overpowered a strong team and set up a platform for our flair players, but they didn't start, we have so few.

Wintle,Ralls and Rimonhoma provide such a good platform, I am so looking forward to seeing Robinson, Colwell, and Davies (although a hard worker rather than flair) getting the ball and doing something with it. We need to scare teams, we don't but we can still beat you up (metaphorically)

Yesterday we were not poor.

I thought we had some good moments yesterday and felt the midfield totally dominated. Missed some good chances which is why it was only 1 nil. Robinson is very important to us which is obvious as he looks the only real striker in the squad.

Poor finishing and final ball but certainly not poor performance overall? Win wed and could go another 4 places up league while league position doesn't lie it also doesn't give full picture as this league is very close points wise
