Cardiff are not believed to be actively looking for a perma

Sat Oct 29, 2022 7:56 am

Cardiff are not believed to be actively looking for a permanent successor other than Hudson for the time being.

BBC

Mark Hudson:

"The conversations are ongoing and, obviously from my point of view, I want to be here as long as I can to help," he said.

“I have this week had talks with the owner Vincent Tan and the Chairman Dalman about my future as manager of Cardiff City.”

Hudson enjoyed an excellent start to his tenure - winning two and drawing one of his first three games - but has since lost three matches in succession.

Those defeats all came in the space of eight days, with the most recent coming at arch rivals Swansea City in last Sunday's south Wales derby.

I hope so. Although, I cannot see it.

Economic circumstances around the world make purchasing a football club non-desirable unless they are an elite club or a billionaire. If the talks of an 80-100 million asking price are genuine, I cannot see anyone touching us with a barge pole.

Is there really a takeover happening though?? Or is it just rumours because of all the uncertainty??

There is no real evidence that a takeover is ongoing. I think it's a mixture of hearsay, people being hopeful, trying to stir news to attract interest and put pressure on Tan to sell possibly.

The reality is, based on our current debt and assets owned, any interested parties would be priced out.

And there was me, thinking that Hudson would have been told ‘Do your best but we’re deffo replacing you soon’.

Now would be a good time for any interested party to make a move especially if they want to get us on the cheap.

What do you think the price would be to buy the club?

I would say we're worth 30-40 million. However, with our debt, it would probably cost double that, and in the current economic climate, that's a lot of money to spend on a business that is running at a loss.

30-40 million wouldn't buy half our stadium more like 80-100 million judging on the recent sale of Derby and Sheffield utd.

Cannot be bothered to work it out but if I was to I would not consider any of the debt.

That's the problem if the debt of £30m to Dalman and others is true that as to be included in sale price unless Dalman writes it off? Debt if any to tan is again upto tan to decide what he wants back...... club maybe worth £40m but the add ons will certainly make ammount closer to £70m+ that's the reality of things.... can anyone see Dalman writing off £20m?
