Danny Gabbidon criticises Vincent Tan & Says Tan Out

Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:57 am

Former caretaker manager and players Danny Gabbidon has branded the club "directionless" and criticised Vincent Tan's continued absence amid the current malaise at Cardiff City.

Four years since Vincent Tan last watched Cardiff City and the shouts of Tan Out are increasing.

Friday 28th October 2022

The Bluebirds find themselves in a state of inertia, with Mark Hudson having been in caretaker charge for more than a month now but with the club two places further down the table than when Steve Morison was given the sack.

After three defeats in a row, there is palpable unrest among the supporters and results need to turn on their head quickly before the World Cup break.

And, speaking on the latest episode of the BBC's Feast of Football podcast, Gabbidon said: "Cardiff City are a team with no real direction, I would say. Caretaker manager in charge in Mark Hudson, trying to improve the style of football, which has got better, but there's still a long way to go with that.

"They don't even have a proper manager at the minute and there's no sign of that happening at the minute. Is it Mark Hudson? No one has said anything. The club has come out and said they are not actively looking for a manager, which I find strange. It's all still in limbo."

Cardiff's inaction has seen more supporters expressing concern about the ownership, with Tan having not been seen since the Bluebirds were in the Premier League. Reports of Tan wanting to sell the club also resurfaced earlier this year in the national press.

The Bluebirds have enjoyed undoubted periods of success with Tan at the helm, including two promotions to the Premier League. But since the last relegation from the top flight, Cardiff have finished in a worse league position year on year.

And speaking about Tan, Gabbidon added: "The 'Tan Out' shout has been happening for a long time. Maybe it happens more after a result like that (the South Wales derby defeat). But it's something large sections of the fan base have been saying for a while because they haven't seen any direction with the club.

"They have seen an owner who has stopped putting money in. An owner that's stopped turning up or coming to games. Maybe stopped caring. He has got lots of other business interests and clubs he looks after.

I agree with Danny Gabbidon. We have an owner who appears to have lost interest in our club.
Can't see us making any clear progress while he pulls the strings.
Thanks for the support over the past few years, Vincent, but time to sell the club on to someone or some organisation that gives us a full commitment to go forward.
Otherwise, risk relegation and no doubts, a reduction in match day attendances.

Step forward the potential new owners…,,,oh hang on, nobody there.

BULLSHIT

1000% there are people trying to buy us.

I actually have seen stuff and it’s a fact
You can keep sticking up for Tan and mocking others, but don’t say stuff when you talk bullshit

Annis, I have never mocked others as I believe (and always will believe) that we’re all entitled to an opinion. Personally I think that it’s time we had a new owner who could breathe life into the club. VT has seemingly lost interest and Choo / MD are no benefit to the club whatsoever.
I’m assuming there’s nobody in line to buy as as I’ve not seen anything to the contrary but I do hope that someone that can lead us forward (with plenty of cash) steps in soon. :bluescarf:
