:bluescarf: :bluebird: :bluescarf: “ MARK HUDSON UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS “ :bluebird: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Thursday 27th October 2022

Mark Hudson’s Bluebirds have just lost 3 games in a row without scoring 1 goal and included another defeat to rival’s Swansea.
Cardiff also have the worst scoring record in the Championship.

Rotherham home is a must win as Cardiff lye 20th in the Championship only 1 point of the bottom 3 with Coventry having 2 games in hand.

MARK HUDSON:

Your position, spoken to chairman, owner?

There are still conversations, definitely. But we know we have got to put that week behind us and learn from it. There are lots of decisions from that week. We had an apology from the referees following the Coventry game, which just came through on Thursday, saying ‘Sorry, we made a mistake, it was onside.’ That’s difficult to take.

Then we had a rescinded red card in the middle of the week. The whole context of the week has to be taken in, from the planning and stuff like that. It’s a game that’s at home and we focus on that.

Hudson

What have the last few days been like?

Reflective. We looked back at the prep and build-up into the game, we got it spot on. We showed the first seven minutes we were there and ready, started the game as we wanted. On the back of a tough week, showing that attitude was exactly what we asked for. Result isn’t what we’ve wanted.

Hudson

Mark Hudson:

"I am not too worried about my own position," he told the BBC after the latest defeat to Swansea.

"What I look at is how the team stuck together, how they fought with decisions that have gone against them on Wednesday [at Queens Park Rangers] and the previous Saturday [against Coventry City].

"They are showing willing and fight and a togetherness."

MARK HUDSON:

Robinson?

He has showed that he has taken responsibility. It’s disappointing for us and as a team, we showed a fight, a willingness to run and a pride and passion on the back of the week they had, with decisions going against them.

Meant more to Swans? Cardiff got too emotional?

It definitely didn’t mean more to them. The whole build-up was great.

How are you looking ahead to Rotherham?

It’s an opportunity for players who have been pushing to come in and stake their claim for the shirt. Everyone is pushing.

Challenge from Rotherham?

We know what they are about. I went to watch them Tuesday night. I know it’s going to be a physical game. We have to stamp our authority on the game.

Rotherham will feel confident, they’ve got you at a weak moment?

They can think that. I would suggest we have spoken about the moments and we have spoken about each game as well as Rotherham this morning. We had some play minutes to get Tuesday and top up. Everyone should be ready and raring to go.

It’s been a tough seven days.

MARK HUDSON:

Martin said they had more stability, Cardiff haven’t, could it do with stability?

I agree that is something you can build on. It makes people feel secure. It gives clarity to players and staff and everyone involved. But we are where we are. We have to show a reaction from the week that we have had and get a positive result on Saturday.

MARK HUDSON:

Turning momentum around?

Go back to the context of the week. It’s about being open with the players for that, focusing on the good bits that we’ve done. There are definitely bits to improve on. We are looking forward to Rotherham at home in front of our fans.

It’s not about my future, it’s about the football club, the players and the fans. Getting the right results at the weekend.

Isaak Davies back in training

Boss Mark Hudson has been handed a huge boost with news striker Isaak Davies has returned to training.

Isaak Davies is back in full training! :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Striker Isaak Davies 21 yrs old

28 appearances / 2 goals

This season July,August,September and most of October been out injured

The club posted a picture of the youngster back out on the grass on their Instagram account. Davies has been missing so far this season through injury, and his return to the fold is a real boon for the Bluebirds, who have struggled for goals in recent weeks.

Re: BREAKING MARK HUDSON: ‘ THURSDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2022 ‘

Thu Oct 27, 2022 2:22 pm

Mark Hudson has revealed conversations are ongoing about his long-term future as manager of Cardiff City, but admits his team desperately need a result against Rotherham United at the weekend.

Hudson's tenure started with a draw and two victories, a string of results which boosted his side up to 10th, and all looked rosy. However, after what Hudson described as "a tough seven days", the club have doubled their league position and now sit 20th in the table.

Fans are rightly asking about the stability of the club and the appointment of a permanent manager. Indeed, as Danny Gabbidon said last week, instability is not conducive to a successful environment.

MARK HUDSON:

Hudson, though, says he is in dialogue with the club's hierarchy about his own position and hopes he gets the chance to continue on a longer-term basis.

“Those conversations are going on. We know where the week was in context, the results haven’t been good enough," interim boss Hudson said.

“We know where we are: we need a result, we need a reaction for us, for the fans, for the football club on Saturday. The conversations are ongoing and, obviously from my point of view, I want to be here as long as I can to help.”

It's all quiet on the Cardiff front regarding interviewing or even appointing a new manager from the outside, so it looks like it's Hudson's gig to lose.

It seems unlikely the Bluebirds will make much change before the World Cup break, which commences after Cardiff's game with Sheffield United on November 12, but Hudson knows his team needs a result heading into the Rotherham United game this weekend.

He added: “I think that’s the conversation but it’s down to us as a club, as a group, to show that reaction to a disappointing week, how we can learn and how we can build and stick together and grow.”

While on the surface three defeats on the spin looks a bad return, there have been mitigating circumstances.

Thanks for posting all the above.
Why don’t the journalists ask about the injury situation? What has happened to Denham for example and any chance of some of Colwill, Davies, NG, Romeo and Bagan being in the 18 for Saturday.
Not asking you to answer this Annis, but it seems remarkable so little hard information is given about our missing personnel.

So we DID score an equaliser against Coventry, which should have given us 1 point more and them 2 points less? I await the swings and roundabouts time when we get the decision. I won't hold my breath though :banghead:

Mark Hudson:

‘Ollie got 90 minutes for the first time, which is excellent. He has been outside a professional environment, so to step up and train at the highest level, then to play certain minutes and re-apply yourself to go and train two days later is very difficult.’

Ollie Tanner aged 20 has been at Cardiff City for 5 months.

Callum Robinson will miss the clash for the hosts after getting sent off against Swansea City last weekend. This will be the first of his three-match ban.

Perry Ng and Mahlon Romeo have both been back training but Mark Hudson remains doubtful over whether either will be available for the Millers clash. Rubin Colwill (hip-flexor) is also a doubt, Ebou Adams (pectoral muscle) is the same, while Isaak Davies (knee) is unlikely to feature before the World Cup.

Jamilu Collins remains a long-term absentee.
