Any idea if it’s pay on the gate? Seems a strange one to put season ticket restrictions on.

Injury update:

Mark Hudson:

"Rubin [Colwill] had a minor setback, which is a shame as we really wanted him to be involved. That’s exactly where he’s been unfortunately. We know and Wales know. We're trying to get him on the grass and training with us as much as we can.

"He had a little setback the other day, which is nothing too major. It just set him back a few more days than we thought. So he won’t be available tomorrow.

"Ebs [Ebou Adams] is progressing well. He’s closer to getting back on the grass. We had Isaak Davies out doing some straight line running which is good.

"Mahlon [Romeo] was out on the grass doing fitness tests yesterday, so we’ll need to see how that goes."

He worked with Gerrard at Rangers, wonder how much was down to him tactically. Certainly done well since taking QPR job

Can we pay on the gate tonight ? Was going to give it a miss and put the saving towards a few extra pints in Qatar. Now I want to go though.

Cardiff remain without Rubin Colwill, after the Wales international suffered a setback in his bid for full fitness this week.

Isaak Davies (knee) and Ebou Adams (pectoral muscle) are making progress in their respective fitness battles, but won't play any part. Mahlon Romeo (ankle) faces a fitness test, but seems a doubt.

Joel Bagan too has suffered a recent setback after a recent hip problem, despite recently completing 60 minutes for the under-21s.

QPR, Leon Balogun picked up a knock against Luton on Saturday, so could well make way for former Swansea City loanee Ethan Laird, while Jimmy Dunne is also a doubt after being stretchered off against the Hatters.

Chris Willock has returned to training following a hamstring problem, but this clash will likely come too soon for him.

QPR boss Michael Beale:

“You don’t know what’s going to come tomorrow. We’ve been riding a crest of a wave and doing well - if the results go the other way, football’s up and down.

"It’s obvious that I’m ambitious. It’s obvious that the players here at QPR want to go and play in the Premier League and I want to go and manage there and in Europe and above. But you deal with today and today I’m the manager of QPR.”

Cardiff City boss Mark Hudson:

"The Championship brings games thick and fast. We had to speak about the game on the weekend and then focus quickly on QPR, and what we could do better from the game.

"We spoke about them yesterday and we’ll travel down today. They’ve done well under Michael. It’ll be a tough game and we’ve got to keep our levels as high as possible."

Match facts:

Queens Park Rangers have won seven of their last 10 league games against Cardiff City (L3) but did lose the recent match in March, going down 2-1.

Following a 2-1 win in March at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, Cardiff are looking for consecutive away league wins over QPR for the first time in their history.

QPR are unbeaten in their last four league games on home soil (W2 D2), and could win successive such fixtures for the first time since November 2021.

Cardiff have won two of their last three away league games (L1), one more than in their previous eight such fixtures (W1 D1 L6).

Cardiff’s Callum Robinson has been involved in five goals in his last five league appearances against QPR (2 goals, 3 assists), with one of those goals coming as a visitor with Preston in a 2-1 win in April 2018.

Difficult game mid week this in going 1-1 but fear this game could be a bit much for our full backs

Re: MATCH THREAD: " QPR v CARDIFF CITY " MATCH THREAD

Wed Oct 19, 2022 6:47 pm

Don't think we'll get much tonight, the 2 most languid players we have in Sawyers and Ojo starting doesn't fill me with confidence although its a tight pitch and they are more technical than the players they replaced.

I am wrong more than right so let's hope I am wrong again

Close!

Good work from Nkounkou, who cuts out a pass and then plays a neat one-two with Ojo. The left-back bangs one from 25 yards and it thunders just over the crossbar!

Re: MATCH THREAD: " QPR v CARDIFF CITY " MATCH THREAD

Wed Oct 19, 2022 6:53 pm

Close again! O'Dowda with a pullback from the touchline and Wintle smacks one with his left, but it's just over the bar. Can't catch a breath here!

QPR look to break as Armstrong is played through by Chair, but he's clearly off.

Kipre sticks out an outstretched leg to stop a cross, but it falls to Chair. His left-footed shot is wide of the mark, though.
