" GREAT/SUPERB WIN, ESPECIALLY TO WIN IN LAST MIN, BUT

Sat Sep 25, 2010 2:15 pm

To Be HONEST and FAIR to Millwall, they were far the better team, We equalised against the run off play, They then had a player sent off, We got given a 50/50 Penalty, They continued to play the Better football, They tore us upen at the back time and time again, out played our Midfield, But Guess what the 90th Minute Bang We score the Winning Goal. My Opinion
So Nobody Never Say We Dont get Any Luck "WE HAD IT ALL", But Like I've said Before it evens out over a Season.
Tactically we were terrible, BUT WE WON :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The Atmosphere by Our Fans Was Terrible, OUT SUNG AS WELL   I cant stand THE NEW STADIUM.

3pts :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
Another Now against Palace and I Will be More than Happy :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I thought today we struggled to get going. Keogh and Bothroyd seem to make the same run. we let them score way to easy, Naylor was caught out but heaton couldnt anything on the goal really. After they had the player the sent off i thoguht it was gonig to be similar to the sheff utd game, when they put everyone behind the ball, and we couldnt break them down. Keoghs goal was class, he does work hard, but i dont think we works well with Jay. I think we failed to get ou first gear and lacked a cutting edge, Koumas looks disinterested, whitts can't hit the same form as last season and burke has been hit and miss. Just hope we can get some more points on the board, and hold on until the rest of our injured players return.

When oli, chops, bells and drinks come back with will have more of a cutting edge. 3 points is 3 points though.

We need to hang on in there until we get the injured players back.
I was in line we the pen [grandstand] whits seemed to wrong foot the player.
nice to see keogh get off the mark should give his confidence a boost.

I agree with all 3 comments by Annis, Lou and sticky.

I think DJ got lucky today and we did not deserve the win, tactically thought DJ got it wrong especially when they went down to 10.

Lou players are not forming partnerships like Jay and Keogh, McPhail and Blake, I thought that was the biggest problem, there was even a distinct lack of communication between Gypese and Naylor.

Stickywicket we need to get through the Palace and Barnsley game and hopefully we will have a fully fit squad and we will kick on.

the reason we had trouble bresking them down is that they went 4 4 1 after sending off and we stuck with 4 4 2 , so had 4 players marking 1. so in effect we had 6 players trying to break down 2 backs of 4. i would of taken naylor off and gone 3 5 2

I was directly behind the challenge on Whitts for the penalty and it was 100% a penalty also great save from Forde as that ball was right in the corner.

We really got out of jail today as Millwall were the better team throughout the game and how we are in the top 3 is quite frankly beyond me.

What I would say about the atmosphere is that the team has a responsibility and there were far to many players below an acceptable level today, and that has an effect no matter what stadium you play in. Also there was a steward in the Family Stand who seemed to be on a mission to stop anyone trying to get behind the team, very aggressive attitude and unwarrented approach to his job.

Our manager will probably try to paper over the cracks of this performance by turning attention to getting our injured players back. But if we continue to aimslessly play the back around our back 4 before lobbing aimless longballs forward we are in for a very long season at the CCS.

I wouldnt have gone 3 at the back as I generally dont think it works but Kev and Naylor should have pushed on a lot more and been playing as wingers

Tbh wasn't a great performance and didn't look like it was 11 vs 10 but if we want to get automatic
Promotion this year then we need to win ugly games like today especially when we play bad if it was last year we would of most probaly dropped our heads and setelled for a draw :ayatollah:

Ugly, poor, disappointing!

But three points

Your spot on

Im starting to think I was right all along about Koumas, and I'm gutted

But Olifinjana, Drinkwater, Bellamy and Chopra to come back....

We will destroy teams once we're at full strength

DJs preffered partnerships are made up of

Oli & Drinkwater

Jay, Chopra, Bellamy

4 out 5 players were unavailable today so hard to criticise,

Jay has just returned from injury and keogh not realy played for a 12 month before coming here, and they have not previously played together, they played up front together today both scored with not a great deal of creativity coming from the centre of the park - give it time before deciding its not working, did jay cross for keoghs goal?

I belive Rae and Mcphail dot play well in the same team DJ tried different combinations today with Blake / Mcphail, blake /komas & rae / koumas considering none of these players are his fist two (oli & drinks) then at least he tried them.

Naylor was shocking and had we had a decent left back millwall what noy have had as many clear chances as they did they played everything down our left second half which is what kept them in the game

We have just come off the back of two defeats and scraped a 2 - 1 win at home - hapy days :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

however now we have broke the losing streak we MUST deliver a good performance against palarse on tuesday i

The spine of our team chopra, bellamy, drinkwater, olifinjana and marshall to come back in so i say that was a very good win.

We played bad and got three points....a sign of champions :ayatollah:

our defending was suicidal at times, we need a voice back there, someone has to take responsibility at the back.
The atmosphere in the canton was ok, didnt really hear millwall and it looked more lively in the ninian than it was at the hull game, there seemed to be more people standing.

Sorry Annis i cant agree the stadium doesn't create the atmosphere its the fans that do that. The Wall created a fantastic amount of noise where our supporters didn't bother. You can blame the stadium if you like but the stadium cant sing or chant, only we the supporters can do that, and we were as awful as our team today shown up by a very poor Wall side. There support was magnificent.

Any team can win playing well. It takes a really good team to win when they play badly. We ARE a really good team, as today proved.

The best teams win games late on - we did this again today.

Just for once, I' m going to criticise Annis here and say he is being too negative about today's win.

Sorry cant agree with you either    you need to look at the bigger picture. (not the ones on the Ninian Pubs walls   ) either. We won today but we played like that against Leicester and Ipswich and lost them both. We play like that again we will loose more than we will win in my opinion which no one listens to or cares

I remember a journo, i forget who, talking about ninian park and our move to the new stadium. He said that ninian park had a great atmosphere was an intimidating place to come and a fortress at times. His point was that when empty it was just an old rusty scruffy looking stadium and that it was the fans who made it what it was. Its up to us to create the atmosphere.
