Ryan Allsop -

By Glen Williams

What a revelation he has been since signing from Derby County. Cardiff have always had a very good track record with goalkeepers and this guy, on the relatively little evidence we have, is right up there. Equally as adept with his feet as he is with his hands, the shot-stopper starts his own team's attacks as well as ending the oppositions'. It has perhaps gone under the radar a little just how good he has been in a Bluebirds shirt.

His confidence on the ball is unbelievable some of the games we have seen at the CCS when last couple minutes of game and we are 1-0up he took controlled the ball and beat two players before offloading it and he looked like it didn’t phase him at all. I for one have never seen a keeper at CCFC as confident and composed as him!
Decent shot stopper and penalty saver :ayatollah:
Only issue is he doesn’t seem to take balls being swung in he seems to leave them and stay in goal leaving it to our defence.
Apart from that I think he’s brilliant and a massive asset to us

Have to agree with all that.

Funny as he was being slated on here recently. Best GK in a long time in my view

I was about to say the same thing.

I've been very impressed. Also a bit of a shithouse. I like that.

He has an understated arrogance which all the top keepers have

Still undecided.

There are goals that have gone against us that he hasn't even gone for, either he thought they were off target or that he couldn't save them. Other times he's a good shot stopper.

Also seems very over-cautious at crosses.

Apart from when the ball is at his feet, where he is brilliant, he reminds me a bit of David Marshall - he also had difficulties with crosses.

I wouldn’t disagree with that. Trouble is, a keeper who’s excellent at distributing the ball (and I believe he is) is vital to the way we play atm and one of those keepers who’s a brilliant shot stopper and great under the high ball would cost millions. Something has to give and I’m pleased with him.

Marshall wasn’t that great with the ball at his feet, good touch maybe but very suspect distribution
