N'KOUNKOU SWITCH TO WINGER

Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:27 am

The guy looks really good going forward but a bit dodgy at left back he does' nt look like a natural defender
could he switch like gareth bale did from back to winger he can skin past most and run with the ball i would like to see him tried as an out and out winger
I think midfield again he would have to defend and seems to struggle back pedalling
Failing this he needs more help on the left in front of him .

He is effective going forward because he is able to arrive high up the pitch from defensive positions and cause havoc. Yes he is not the best defensively but what he brings to the team offensively is currently outweighing his deficiencies defensively. You can’t normally have your cake and eat it in this league.

Hear what you’re saying Monty but often when a switch like you’re suggesting happens the space that he had as LB suddenly disappears as he’s more heavily marked by the RB. Keep him where he is I say, and cover him effectively when he’s attacking.

N'Lounkou as a winger is a good shout.

Also, I wonder whether we could turn Ojo into a permanent striker. He is fast and able to run onto through balls (reminds me of Earnie) and knows where the net is.

Could have had 3 on Saturday - certainly should have had 2

Yes and most right backs will be more worried about him attacking them, so not helping their own wide players, attack can be the best form of defence, keep him there and make sure he has cover.

Bagan is just as bad defending and not as good attacking, he's a back up only until he improves.

Maybe thats the problem the last miss was a sitter, Robinson would have scored that.

He is a wingback but we are not sacrificing an attacker for a third center-half so its full on excitement with him as a full back
