How do I feel now

Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:12 am

Well before I answer that I will start by saying I expected Hudson to struggle in these 3 games. I could only see us getting a point from Wigan. The fact we have come away with 7 from 9 is making me think where was it going wrong under Morison.

For me that Middlesborough game stick out in my mind. We had our best 45 minutes playing a different style to what we had been playing. The next 45 minutes we tried to shut up shop and it nearly backfired. I left that game thinking we don't know what is our best style but that 1st half there were a lot of clues there.

We went into the Huddlesfield game on a high but left with our arses firmly on the ground. What went wrong? Personally I felt it was going wrong in the background which led to a poor performance on the pitch resulting in Morison walking/getting sacked. Up steps Hudson and we are now playing an aggressive attacking game just like we did in that first half at Middlesborough.

I'm not getting carried away. I want to see more of this and if we come away with a result against the Jacks then I will start believing in Hudson.

Totally agree , Huddersfield was a totally weird game , we could of still been playing and not scored

Something happened at the club that week..

Same team and format yesterday and we would of beaten Huddersfield, although the penalty miss was huge

For whatever reason morison couldn't or didnt know how to set up to utilise the speedy players we have going forward... did say this before sacked.... what's happening is Hudson knew what was required and as implemented things perfectly saw in 1st game he knew what he was doing and as improved things each game let's hope it continues.

It’s too early to give a definitive answer, but I’m beginning to wonder if Morison was the problem.

Perhaps our owners and CEO do know what they are doing? Mind you, even if we went on a 10 game winning streak many people on here wouldn’t give them credit.

Big difference is that alsop is playing it more direct ,keeping the pressure off our defence ,under Morison we were over playing it under Hudson its moved to the flanks a lot quicker . Hudson isn't tinkering with the formation or tram either .

Pretty much how i see it. The problem with rookies is no one knows how they react when the pressure is on. There was lots of pressure on "Mr I signed xyz, because of me" that when it got tasty he got very rigid and conservative. Anyway he has gone now

I watched a bit of the Cardiff Leicester semi final over a decade ago and totally forgot how attacking we were under DJ and who was our captain then ;) ;) ?? Shades of DJ's team, we'll get mullered if we played 442 every week but the ball is definitely going forward with more intent and speed. There is a time to pass and a time to go long and i am enjoying it

In some people’s mind Hudson should only get it based on how we do v the jacks. That is such shall mindedness. If we were playing jacks tomorrow they would be favourites and so people would be happy to disregard recent results if unable to defeat the jacks.

They have done the double now… the jeopardy is gone and quite frankly if Hudson gets the results elsewhere I wouldn’t allow an inevitable loss to Swansea mean we ditch him for another dinosaur or Darren purse.

Have to agree with that. We’re now looking very dangerous on the break and we’re also mixing it a bit and not overplaying when there’s no need to

Judging everything on the Swansea game is very small time. If he is absolutely superb in every game except that then I would hope he still gets the job.

Quite bizarre people thinking that Swansea game should determine whether Hudson gets the job.

Surely a win at home against the bottom club on Saturday and then a point or better at QPR are much more important in the scheme of things ?

I want us to stand up and fight against the Jacks but the result in a derby can go either way. If we only lose against the Jacks then surely one loss in 6 is pretty good going looking at the teams we will have played !!??

These small minded attitudes get in the way of good decisions sometimes.

Can live with a loss to the vermin or anyone for that matter as long as the team fights.

Who’s saying the swansea game should determine if Hudson gets the job?
Unless I’ve missed something.

Don’t listen to the troll a few threads up from this.

What I would say is that based on Hudson having played and captained many of the derbies, he’s probably the best man for that particular job at the moment. Will certainly get them up for it more than Morison did!

The original post said “ I want to see more of this and if we come away with a result against the Jacks then I will start believing in Hudson.” which seems to indicate that the Jacks game is more important than the others.

My point is that the in the wider scheme of things, particularly when it comes down to choosing a manager, the derby game is a game with 3 points up for grabs. No more no less.

It is a game we’d like to win more than others but it shouldn’t dictate who our next manager is.

Well some of you are dismissing the Swansea game.

Over the last decade we have struggled when we have lost to the Jacks. Even when we have won a derby it was them that reached the Premier. Like it or not there is something about that game that effects us. Its just one of those things.

Glad Mark Hudson and the team/squad are doing well of late :bluebird:
