Deserted CCS

Tue Oct 04, 2022 7:03 pm

Guess the rain stopped people from coming, the goldfish died, cat was choking and all that shite. I'm sure the rain wouldn't have stopped them if it was liverpool or man utd

5th league / Non League etc

Notts County over 10,000 v Wrexham last night, Wrexham took nearly 2,000 fans last night after taking 2,500 fans to Oldham a few days earlier. Fans will still turn up if they really want to. I reckon at least 3,000 season ticket holders never turned up last night.
Liverpool v Rangers last night fans were paying of tours £300 a ticket

Plymouth in the league below us had more home fans 16,381 ( full house ) last night

Sunderland in our league getting between 30,000-40,000 home crowds still

Real Mallorca charged nearly 300 euro’s a ticket v Barcelona the other night sold out , scandalous ( many British bought tickets )

If the fans believe and are happy they still turn up

The game was on TV and it was raining.

I'm not sure why people think we're a huge club. We're not. These are the typical size of crowds we attract, with the exception of Premier League football. It's always been like that.

All the posts above conveniently forgot to mention the train strike which meant many people would have had to leave early if they had made it up. With game on Sky there was no point in making the effort to only see 2/3 of the match.

And the 8 o clock kick off added to that.

There was no train strike. Saturday and Wednesday today were the train strikes. I travelled by train yesterday and there was a full service

Yeah a tree fell on the m4 to which made a standstill so take that on board to. Plus a big massive sink hole appeared across the whole of the A4232 meaning no cars could head towards the ccs.

One of my colleagues said they couldn't get a train home after the game and would have had to leave after 60 mins to make sure they got home so wasn't worth going. Perhaps it was train scheduling for their area but I am certain they mentioned a strike.

Not sure about train strike but Cardiff line was over 20 minutes delayed on the way in and last train from ninian park was before 9pm

All success based.

Sunderland first season back this level. Three year time won’t be near that if they aren’t up the top. Wrexham are flying in their league, Notts County up the top too. Plymouth are top as well.

If we were near the top we wouldn’t have 17,000 empty seats. It’s all about success.

The year in red we were top with 24,000 regularly.

unfortunatley i work weekends so i can only pick and choose week games to go to, tuesday being one of them days i work, but with the cost of living i have to be even more stringent of which games i pick to go to, the game was on tv, so i figured i could save around £40, which to some (non league or champions league) fans might not be much, but thats alot in my house at the moment. as it stands the only game i can genuinely look at attending this season, will be the Whitts memorial game, and at the moment i am looking at trying to find the cheapest way to get to the game

Why do people think football is any different from other sports in regards to fans support? Most teams whatever they play get high and low support depending on how successful they are? Yes always exceptions but we are talking about middle of the road teams like city..... take away the contribution of away fans at all championship clubs and you will get better picture of how many fans actually support a team.... we have around 16k attendance of home fans at games which is not bad considering all that's been going on at club and outside it in the world.... always remember playing Hereford normal crowd 6k maybe? that game 30k+ why such an increase just Because an oposition manager ridiculed our support? .
Get relegated be less fans get promoted be more its really that simple. :old:
