At least 10 players on big money contracts were out of contract anyway, so they were going anyway, NO matter who was the manager.
As to players brought in, some good ones, but we will see how they all do under new management??
As to our younger players you never brought them on better, in fact for me you nearly destroyed them and how many ever started games??
For me your attitude was awful and very disrespectful.
Always blaming others when results never went our way, bringing players down in the media.
Always tinkering with the team, no consistency.
Results and league table don’t lie, your words and you can see below.
STEVE MORISON:
“ I can definitely say I left the club in a better place."
"Changing styles, lowering age groups, lowering wage bills. Personally I thought we were on that path. There were very close games we lost, we could have taken points out of.”
"Games we drew that we could have won. I leave thinking we're five off of the play-offs, we're a penalty goal away from possibly going on to beat Huddersfield or drawing the game and if someone had said to me at the start of the week that you'd go to Middlesbrough and Huddersfield and take four points, for example, you'd have snapped their hands off.”
"I leave, gutted to lose my job, no-one likes to have that tag of being sacked over their head, but the reaction from it from myself has given me a lot of confidence, it's been one hell of a job, I can definitely say I left the club in a better place."
"It's not only 17 players we had in, it was the amount that went out, the characters that went out, the amount of league games that had left. Initially we had settled on 15, the West Brom game we arguably lose our best player of the start of the season who had been on fire in Jamilu Collins, so we had to replace him quickly which we did.
"And then we'd been looking for a striker all summer then we got one the day before the deadline, then unfortunately I only had a week to work with the player.“
"I feel like the club is in a better place and as a marker I suppose that's definitely a better place to be than leaving the club in a worse state."
So what next for the former Millwall man?
A swift return to management beckons, he says.
"Just learn, reflect on anything I could have done better," he said about the immediate future. "100 per cent (a return to management), I can't wait, you enjoy your time when you are doing it, as soon as it goes away you have a couple of days to get over it but I am a very focused and purposeful individual and the next challenge now, I think I've shown I've done a hell of a lot in short space of time, I'll definitely be a better manager for it."

Wez,
The board backed him and he made out everything was about him, not our club, even said all the players only came here because of him. His outbursts were pathetic.

We were plummeting down the table, losing virtually every game - would have been in bottom 3 if other teams hadn't had points deductions. In a matter of weeks he brought in loanees, changed the side, and City were safe by a mile. He could have kept a consistent side but used the games to try out younger players, systems etc., at the expense of results. We then saw 10 players most with experience, leave, and 17 new players come in. And then, when the team is still settling [after key injuries at the start of season], he's sacked after just 10 games.
Personally as someone who has followed City since 1962, I thought he was taking us in the right direction for the 1st time in decades. Sadly, many had a personal grudge against him - he wasn't 'nice' enough, he didn't play Colwill, etc. etc. This is probably the 5th or 6th toughest league in the world and I thought our league position/points total was probably what was to be expected at such and early stage of the season.
We've missed the boat big time in my opinion..

Me, too!![]()
"Could have, should have, but didn't..." are the key words and whilst I largely supported him and was more surprised than shocked at his early dismissal, his failure to see the negative side of his tenure (results and occasional unhelpful attitude) is evident
As for the squad? I think it's an improvement on last season but only time will tell, so over to the new manager (whoever that will be) and his players...

This is correct and I would guess 75% of City fans feel this way

I agree whole heartedly.
Our group of Season Ticket holders certainly felt this was a long term project. Yes, SM made mistakes but he's still learning the ropes in management and should have been afforded the opportunity to grow as a manager and as a person.
A kneejerk reaction and a missed opportunity.
