After accepting his new position.

Gavin Chesterfield:

Gavin said: “I’m excited to be here. It’s a fantastic Club with a huge history and a passionate fanbase and I want to thank the board for their trust.

“This feels like the perfect opportunity for me, as I know a lot of people at the club having worked with and supported the education of several coaches including those currently supporting the First Team, Academy, Women’s sides and Foundation.

“Dave Hughes is a close friend of mine and I feel he has left the Academy in a strong place and made a significant contribution, and I’m sure the staff would agree.

“With the new Academy facility being developed at Llanrumney, it’s an exciting time to be involved with the Academy. It is important that we build upon what has been created in recent years. We are preparing players for the tough realities of the football industry, it’s essential that we provide an environment and the opportunity for them to thrive as children, young men and footballers.

“For me, it is about providing the best life experiences and learning opportunities that we can. All of those things come into the mix when developing players from a holistic perspective and I think you can say the same thing too when it comes to staff development.

“When you have player development and staff development coming together then it makes for a positive culture and an exciting place to work and that is what I’m hoping to bring to the table.

“There is nothing quite like watching a player come through and make their debut. It’s a very difficult feeling to replicate and I can’t wait to get started and help shape the future generation of Cardiff City players.”

Fans feel down Jules, you might be happy but I can’t see why. They don’t slate the club, they love the club it’s the regime fans are fed up off.

FB and Twitter are 100% more doom and gloom than on here.

So if your happy how the club is currently run, please say why?

Because I am certainly not.

1. Younger squad.
2. Looking like a footballing team.
3. Not as many leaks from club.
4. Seem to sensibly financially run
Eg. The HMRC not banging on the door, wages being paid.
5. New manager coming in.
Things could be a hell of a lot worse like some other clubs.
Am I happy with everything? No.
Dalman and Choo need getting rid of and some football minded people in place including a DoF.

Annis and the mods I appreciate what you guys do as this is my one stop point for all things CCFC but the editing is a little unfair. His CV is very good for his position

Gavin has significant experience in both the domestic and international game. He previously worked in Player Development with the FAW as part of Osian Roberts’ coaching staff for four years, helping develop current Bluebirds Isaak Davies and Oli Denham alongside 15 years and over 500 matches, as manager of Barry Town United.

Gavin was also Course Director for the prestigious University of South Wales’ MSc Advanced Performance Football Coaching Degree and as FAW Coach Educator Training Manager, specialising in coach development at the highest level. He is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and will officially begin his new role on November 14th.

Head of Academy Coaching Dane Facey will continue to oversee the Academy until Chesterfield takes charge, after David Hughes departed for his new role at Manchester United earlier this month.

For you Jules to answer:

Current Position in league?

Value of the current squad ?

Current debt?

Are the majority of the fans happy? If so 20,000 at home to Burnley

Are we higher now than before Tan took us over?

Is our debt less or more?

Ok.

Editing???

What’s he achieved in the English league which what really matters?

Barry Town United, not even I the top flight of the Welsh League.

I will state what I said about previous managers like Morison, they are hired nowadays because they were cheap, but no real experience.
But when they once again fail I am told to forget and move on? ?

Apologies, I see it was from WOL and they edited the club announcement

This is an academy role overseeing the education of young footballers who the majority won't make it to the professional game. I see no point in giving it to a no experience in the real world ex-footballer.

18th due to results.
(Poor manager now gone.)

Squad value. I don't know.
(Squad value will rise as players improve)

Current debt. Again don't know.
( can't be as bad as nearly going out of business)

Happy fans. Think it's split to be honest Annis.
( some will never forgive Mr Tan but others just want to see some football and don't get invested in the CCFC circus. As for 20k fans, well you know as well as me that our fan base always has fluctuations )

Higher now since before Mr Tan. Depends what you mean?
( position wise, not sure but assets wise I would say higher with stadium training areas and new academy opening)

Debt. Once again I don't know.
( but as above it must be better than having to sell players to survive ie Rambo, Kav etc.)

As for new owner, well I will just say be careful what you wish for as there seems some real corkers out there. Me, I just want to see some football.
