How do you get a season ticket refund?

Tue Sep 20, 2022 12:16 pm

When I renewed my season ticket it was with the understanding that this season would be a season of rebuilding the team and the style of football.

I was finally starting to enjoy the games at the CCS and yes we were losing a few away but that's football and it would have taken a season or 2 to turn us around.

I now feel like we have taken 10 steps backwards and I didn't sign up for that.

How do you know that what comes next won’t be an improvement?

You’ve basically got Bob Hope and No Hope.
However, I did after many exchanges of emails obtain a refund for myself and Grandsons season tickets after relegation from the Premiership. They shut the top tier and offered a padded seat in the “Corporate” level, but hey ho my half way line seat became an offer of being sat looking at the corner flags or pitch level getting wet in the old grandstand.
The 3 centre blocks were not available. First game of the season these blocks were empty and remained empty. I asked for best price in these blocks but was quoted normal price. Asked for Ken Choo to ring and discuss but he didn’t. It went around the houses with Ops Manager and Commercial Manager before I got a full refund.

A Serious Question - What style were you expecting ? We are a team of decent championship grafters but with no x factor, who of our squad is capable of the key pass? We can't pull teams out of shape like Citeh. I was really happy with the pragmatism of Boro then we get the Pep wannabe bollox of Huddersfield.

Form
W L L W D L D L L W L

Home
Norwich -won 1-0 with 3 shots, none in the box (45% possession )
Pompey - Lost 3-0 with26 shots, 10 in the box
Brum - won 1-0 with 16 shots, 10 in the box (57% Possession)
Preston 0-0 with 22 shots 8 in the box (58% Possession)
Luton- Lost 1-2 with 17 shots 6 on the box (64% Possession)

Away
4 points out of 18

A fresh team with a wet-behind-the-ears idealist as its leader, a pragmatist would send us up the table

Dazza.

My advice would be to run with it because what we have at CCFC is what I call "Proper Football".

We are not part of this commercialised cr@p where clubs spend £60m on a goalkeeper or defender.

Like many on here I have supported the club since 1973 and have been through thick and thin with the club. I have been their club photographer. I have watched them at Aldershot. I have seen us get knocked out of the FACup by Enfield and Ive seen many promotions and highlights as well. In fact one of the highlights was seeing us lose a ECWC match in Aarhus.

This is the fun of CCFC. They will totally make or ruin your weekend but that becomes part of your life and in 20 years time you will have lots of stories to tell also.

I had to wait 30+ years to watch CCFC in the Premier League. Whilst it may or may not happen this season I do believe that over the next few years we will find ourselves there again. Enjoy the ride - Going through the bad times you will appreciate it more when we are promoted. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

What I don't get is that some are assuming we're reverting back to the style of football we used to play.

There is no evidence of that.

You only have to look at the club's statement on Morison's departure. They mentioned how he implemented the "club's philosophy" of changing the style, or words to that effect.

Reading between the lines, it suggests whoever comes in will be expected to continue with the style of play.

But I also can't understand why someone would even consider cancelling their season ticket based purely on a change of manager.

I don't know about the OP, but I parted with my money for my season ticket because I support Cardiff City Football Club. Don't care who the manager is, that will never change.

The only time us fans were in a position to get a refund was the Golden season ticket scandal when the club promised to bring in players if we went and bought our next season ST's. This was a promise from Ridsdale of which he did not deliver.

As for Morison sacking, well from what I see he walked. My opinion on this is that he walked because it was not working. I believe Tan confronted him on this, Morison threw his teddy out of the pram and the club had no option but to relieve him of his duties. Whoever replaces Morison are going to have to accept what we have and will need to be the right person to work with it. That is not going to be an easy decision.

I don't think I'd ever expect a refund for a season ticket.
However, if you are a fan who is only willing to attend under certain terms, it would be best to pay on a match-to-match basis.
No point in purchasing a season ticket on the basis a certain style of football will be played, or we will win a certain percentage of games, or indeed if a certain manager keeps his job, as you will often be let down.

Cut the card into tiny pieces and with the money you don’t get back - don’t spend it - good bye.
