‘ Mark Hudson ‘

By Tom Coleman

Mark Hudson has already been made caretaker manager, but would like the job permanently.

Pros:

He knows the club inside out and, having worked as his deputy, the former Cardiff skipper is arguably well placed to carry on the philosophy implemented by Morison.

The early noises coming out of the club suggest the current interim boss will likely be given a chance to impress over the coming weeks, which could potentially bring him in line with previous appointments.

Mick McCarthy and, indeed, Morison himself, were handed the job full-time after promising spells in the interim. If Hudson manages to get a tune out of these players, it's difficult not to see the board following a similar path.

At the moment, he would certainly be the easiest option as also would not cost the club anymore money.

Against:

Would be a massive risk.

Aside from two short stints as caretaker manager at Huddersfield Town, Hudson has never held a senior managerial role. In any case, he failed to gain a single point during his four games in the dugout at the John Smith's Stadium.

It is hardly a record which will convince fans he is a better option than his predecessor.

There has been an early suggestion he might be willing to be more aggressive in Cardiff's approach to games, with some onlookers critical of how the Bluebirds set themselves up at times under Morison.

However, in terms of his managerial ability, the jury is firmly still out as virtually no real management skills behind him.

Looking at that list - the only ones who have had any success are Warnock, Mackay and Jones. All the rest have been average to useless. 4 games as a manager and no points oh dear not good. I'd prefer it if wannabe managers did their practicing at other clubs

But we 100% could never get Sean Dyche is the issue, he’s far to big a manager for our club, he’s more likely to pick up one of the premier league jobs like Bournemouth, we aren’t able to get a manager like him unfortunately.
Also my personal opinion but I don’t want a manager like Sean dyche, warnock etc no matter their experience because with our team we should be playing to our strength which will be modern football

Dyche already strongly linked with Leicester, no way will he drop to the Championship.

It depends on the rookie. I'd be very surprised if Hudson turned out to be a success. On the other hand I believe Craig Bellamy could be one of the greatest Cardiff City managers of all time.

What makes you believe that about Bellamy?

Call it a hunch or intuition. There is something about him that makes me believe he'll be an outstanding manager. The feistiness he displayed as a player could well be converted into a positive once he's the boss.

I got the feeling he won't ever be a good manager but he will be a great coach and no2 . I don't think he's got the mental health capacity to take the main man role and the pressure that comes with it .

I honestly don't believe they'll give the job to Hudson, no matter how he does in caretaker charge.

Been down that road with Morison and less than a year later we're looking for a new manager again.

Conflicting reports from the press, some say we'll go for a young manager and others saying we'll go for an experienced one.

So nobody really knows.

But I don't see Hudson getting the job and I'm almost certain it won't be Bellamy.
