It’s the “board” / Tans fault. Do you trust them?

Blame Harris, McCarthy, Morison and previously Trollope, Slade, Ole and so on, the buck does stop with the manager who is ultimately accountable.


But clearly the repeat appointments are failing because the demands and pressure are too much for such limited choices. They don’t have the skill set or qualities required. So I almost don’t blame them, it’s like asking me to manage my team at work, I would take the pay but I would not relish the job and that would show in my work, it would be a step to far. And that’s what’s been happening.


Recruitment is everything in modern football, not just the players, managers possibly more so. And we keep getting it wrong , cheap inexpensive unattached appointments, so it can’t be a surprise to have a revolving managers door and lowly league positions. I think we all need to lower our expectations , me more than anyone. This regime will continue on this path, more managers will come and go, but it will be cheap.

Do I trust them/Tan to get this appointment spot on, no I don’t. Under this regime, we are a mid to lower championship team. We need to accept that with these people calling the shots. I’m expecting Hudson or another Harris/McCarthy type appointment. It is what it is. Not very exciting or entertaining down Sloper Road, it hasn’t been for some time despite my hoarse singing voice after every game, and this will continue.

So no I do not trust our hierarchy, their managerial recruitment record is very poor.

Be careful what you wish for, one eye on the jacks current regime will tell you that, but I would love new owners, even if they could just give us a communicative, cooperative football men board, and inject enough capital to pay Luton Town getting us a good long term leader!

They have made two good decisions Malky & Warnock then you have Ole, Trollope, Harris and Morison.

I believe Mick did Ok in the situation he found himself and thought he'd "manage" the board, but with no funds, he (IMO) went into deliberate self-destruct mode to get out of here. Slade did his job and cleared up from Ole. So they do get it right a few times.

I was thinking about this last night. Morison has done his job, he has totally changed the squad and I bet everything was above board and fully vetted this time around. We have a nucleus of a squad to work with so a new proper manager would only need a few additions.

Time to be brave for our board. We got lucky with Malky as he was relatively inexperienced and I'd never even heard of him but Vinny gave him decent funds and he had the best championship player of his generation, the other punts haven't worked.

Warnock walked when he knew his recruits were never up to it, Mick committed Hari Kari leaving good ole Russell Slade who is the only oine to see out his contract........

This clubs needs someone with a bit of nounce and experiance.....

If tans record on managers is bad what does that say about the managers who signed dud after dud strikers? Did any manager actually buy a striker and played to his strengths ? Even morison was same playing one upfront when clearly didnt work... very bizarre state of affairs altogether.

It's the boards fault when it goes wrong but the managers fault when it goes right ay ? .
