"We gave them the information"

Sun Sep 18, 2022 7:59 pm

Anyone else cringe as much as me when Morison said this almost every game?

The quote suggests when we win, it's because the players listened to him but when we lose, it's because the players didn't listen to him.

He said "you don't know what you're talking about" to the press and fans a number of times also, which I think made it tougher for everyone to get behind him.

I think his comments after the Huddersfield game potentially contributed to him getting sacked though. How can you say "we didn't know what they were going to do" followed by "we gave the players the information but it didn't work"?

Saying the players had a "soft underbelly" after he signed most of them exposed him also. That comment suggested he hasn't brought in players with the correct character to grind out results and win ugly.

I really appreciate what Morison tried doing to change our playing style and I always stick up for him. I think we've sacked him way too soon, but he didn't do himself any favours.

I think the job came too soon for him. His comments, behaviour and overall character made his job even tougher than it should have been and I think he will look back and reflect with regret with some of the comments he made and the way he behaved.

The club have said his sacking is all down to results, but I don't believe that. I think quite a few players will be pleased he's gone.

Good post, but 6 losses in the last 8 games I think results probably did contribute with the other reasons you mentioned too .

Its getting more ruthless every season, didn't 3 get sacked over weekend?
But agree, his comments let him down along with his blame game.
