Morison: “We had to change our plan, it was a difficult one

HUDDERSFIELD ONE OF THE WORST TEAMS AND SO MORISON MAKES ANOTHER EXCUSE LOL

Huddersfield 1 CARDIFF CITY 0

STEVE MORISON:

"It was a difficult one today, because we didn't know what they were going to do. They made a lot of changes, changed their formation, changed their style of play. Took all risk out of the game, so my plan could not be done.”

"So we thought we'd change it up, freshen it up and try and hurt them regardless of what shape on the turnover, which we did at times in the first half after the first 10-15 minutes. Obviously having Sparky on the bench we had the ability to then change and we did. We went for it with a couple more up top and got Callum [O'Dowda] back to wingback.

"So we couldn't really figure out what they were going to do until we saw their team-sheet."

"We had to freshen it up. Sparky [Mark Harris] had a dead leg from the game on Tuesday, so he hadn't trained up until we came up today, so I had to change my plan.”

We didn't make the most of our moments that we had, and we're disappointed with that."

What moments? The penalty was only moment looked like scoring.. :o
He is talking balderdash you play to your strengths not think what tactics opposition is going to play? Basically he played not yo lose because he didn't know what they would do a team that just sacked their manager and were extremely poor.... as for Harris and subs that made not one jot of difference because we played same way for entire 90mins "awful" :banghead:
Going by this interview he is not the man to take us forward you got to be better than guess what tactics opposition are going to play.

Here's a plan for you Morison

Stop worrying about what the opposition are going to be doing and send out a team with instructions to try to win the game.

You can have that one for nothing by the way.

That was a worrying interview on several counts ... if Harris wasnt fit to start why not use watters in same formation as Tuesday? Since when do managers worry about oposition tactics especially when team is as poor as they are .

They were a club in turmoil and there for the taking today. That’s probably the poorest team we will play all season

Here’s a plan for you Steve..pick your best team, go at them from the start and try to win the game..let them worry about us not the other way around

The tinkering and constant changes are clearly not working but also where is the motivation and man management? We came out so slow in the second half. No effort. Our second halves have been so poor this season. What does he actually say to them? I think we are past managers throwing tea cups but he doesnt seem to get any reaction from his players and as for derby games under him- pathetic. The tide is turning on him now. I was prepared to give him patience but I want better than bottom 6 and losing most weeks.

Too early to be talking about losing faith with Morison, especially when he’s had to rebuild virtually a whole squad.

However, I am starting to get worried about the constant tinkering and not sticking to his first choice team (if he knows it, and he should). We’re certainly not good enough to play Championship games with anything but our first choice team unless it’s forced upon us by injury or suspension.

However, as I said, too early for knee jerk reactions to defeats. Break it down, if you had said we’d get two points out of two away games we would have settled on that, we actually got three. But it’s still frustrating.

Just one other point. I’ve seen, elsewhere, people saying Robinson is not up to it. Are these people real !!?? Two assists on Tuesday, a poor game today and all of a sudden he’s not up to it !! Come guys we have to be better than this as a fan base.

Let’s see where we are at the end of Oct, early November, if things haven’t got more consistent by then I would guess Morison will be looking over his shoulder but before then is way too early given the turnover of the summer.
