My View: “ Just not good enough “

Sat Sep 17, 2022 4:03 pm

Morison had a plan against one of the worst sides and City today lost one nil and missed a penalty and are just not good enough in front of goal.

Just not good enough against one of the worst sides.

Morison has NO plan B.

Morison does not know how to come back in a game as soon as we go behind, has yet to do that this season?

I am very worried as Huddersfield are awful and even their fans tell me that .

HUDDERSFIELD 1 CARDIFF CITY 0

I will judge Steve Morison after 12 games as I said from day one

Morison what is your problem with Rubin Colwill ?

There is definitely 100% something wrong at the club, all the managers we’ve had, 17 new players this season, and it’s still poor, I don’t know what we need to do, do we need to get relegated and start from scratch, do we need another new manager, do we need a new chairman, do we need new owners, what is it, it just seems every season is the same

Very disappointing and Morison cannot use the performance over result

We are in a relegation fight all over again.Ten games in and we can see where we are now. In my view Morison has bought some good players in, evolved the style but hes tinkering in every game is unsettling, often unnecessary and he just cant motivate. We are a soft touch and we dont look up for a battle. Time and Time again its the same. The board need to be quietly looking for a new manager before the next window. No need to panic, we need to make the right experienced choice but Morison has to go if we are to stay up and progress. Morison out

Performance and result can definitely not be used again.
If Morison goes then all we will get is another cheap temporary fix and the cycle goes round again.
I think we are in big trouble.

To put it another way

Huddersfield, in the relegation position, beat us
Middlesbrough, in the relegation position, totally outplayed us in the 2nd half and were unlucky not to draw or even win.
West Brom, just outside the relegation position, totally outplayed us.

This is just not good :banghead:

Not sure I totally agree with that analysis. We were good value for a point at West Brom and utterly destroyed Boro first half. Would agree with the general point though that we are relegation candidates. That's not good enough. Morison has to improve results in the next five games. We have to stop losing games. A mid table side would get a point today. I think the board need to start the process for a new manager quietly now though so there is no panic if we do not improve in October. Crystal ball says the Swansea game may well be his last.

Mick McCarthy still unemployed…

Think Morison is doing a good job.. with the rub of the green we’d have a few more points. How many Managers do we have to go through, because the next will have no money to spend either.

Relegation form. Lack of quality up front proving costly.

If it ain't broke why change it? Harris scores v Middlesbrough, confidence sky-high then he gets dropped to the bench.

I'd say the home matches v Burnley and Blackburn are huge for Morison. Lose them and he'll struggle to hold on until Wigan away.

Always doom and gloom on this forum. Morison is trying to change the style of play from the boring hoofball we have been watching over the past few years. It has been successful in parts but on the whole terrible to watch. Give the bloke a proper chance 17 new players without spending much money. Give him until Christmas at least. If we are in the relegation zone then and only then would I propose a change. KTF :bluebird:

Was the football great yesterday and every game this season so far?

Morison actually talks nonsense and blames himself.

Huddersfield are dreadful and their fans say the say, yet we could not even get a draw from them?

Answer: how many games has Morison come back from when we go 1 nil down?

The majority of the squad has now been with us over 3mths, Morison actually said they had jelled 2 months ago.

We have played 10 competitive games this season and 5 friendlies, after all those games Morison should know his first team.

He blames everyone else but himself?

How many of our so called great youngsters does he start with in games?

I’m glad you feel confident about him, because I certainly don’t.

I will finally judge him after our 12th league game.

I supported the appointment oh Morrison when it was made but in entirely new to managing a football club it could turn out to be anything from very good to very bad. Before the season started you would have thought that he was recreating the Ajax side of the late 60s early 70s and costed us hardly a penny doing it. Admittedly some of the new signings did look good on paper but the teams letting these players go are not daft and maybe they are simply not as good as they have been made out to be.

12 games is enough to make a provisional judgement on Morrisons skills as a manager and I would say it’s somewhere between mediocre and bad.

I was lulled into a false sense of security by the massive over praising of our new recruits into thinking we should be at least mid table this season And possibly have a go at the playoffs. Now I think we will be in a season long relegation fight and won’t necessarily win it.

I am with you on all that.

Plus the over praising of the majority of these players was beyond, exactly the same the year bef regarding the 10-12 young players added to the squad and where are they now?
