" Patience "

Sat Sep 03, 2022 4:04 pm

Many on here, myself included, have said over the last couple of days that we need to be patient with this team.

I completely stand by that.

Yet some on here are saying, after today's result and performance, that we are probably in a relegation battle. We hit the post twice today before Millwall got their first goal. If we'd had that bit of luck, the match probably would have gone differently and we could have been celebrating three points right now.

This team needs time to gel. Let's not forget we have a totally new team and are completely different style. Only three of our starting 11 today were at the club last season - Ng, Wintle and Watters.

It's going to take time for things to click properly and I'll say it again, we need to be patient.

There's a long, long way to go in this season and I'm confident we won't be involved in a relegation fight. I predicted we'd finish mid table, and I haven't changed my mind.

I aid mid table would be ok and confident we have a squad that will improve...keep behind players and manager....huge change in style and personal it's going to take time.

Whilst I agree with you. Morison needs to more brave and commit more bodies in the box, otherwise we are never going to score enough goals. It's been the same all season so far.

a good season would be tan and dalman gone - then we can move forward!

I' ve got more patients than my doctors sugery

But we looked better upfront last season with issac davies as a threat at the moment its still toothless in my humble opinion

How do you think we are going to score a goal ? Only 4 players all under 5ft 7 in the box from our corner while we were chasing the game? Hmmm :banghead:

Early days yes and not far away from top part league but morison really needs to look at way we go forward? People look at watters but he didnt play 2nd half and precisely same things happening... poor crosses or no one taking a chance? Also missing easy chances every game is not helpful in fact score only one of those and things would be totally different such fone margins.

Worcester ccfc

I admire your patience but the table looks quite urgent and the only person who could possibly score for us is issac davies
and he' s still out injured.

Its a results game - if he doesn’t get things right he will be down the road

We lack aggression all over the pitch. Yes play good football , but you need to run into the box, you need to try to beat players, be strong in defence at corners and show you will not be beaten. I am not asking players to get send off or break a players legs but like all sports you need to be aggressive and bully the opposition.

The problem is Morison says the results are not important.
Morison is also very stubborn and arrogant and won’t change on many things, even if they are not right.

I maintain this is a half-decent squad.

We need to remain patient until Forest panic and sack Cooper then go in hard. ;)

Agree about the need for patience but we are where deserve to be at the mo due to the lack of goals.
Loving the new style but would be happier if we played ugly and won for the next 5 games or so.

Today was a relgation performance. Awfull with the basics and we looked soft. We we didn't really compete and if you go to Millwall you have to win your battles and we didn't. I do worry about Morison's ability to motivate but also to find a plan B. He has to change shape sometimes. The situation is worrying but I still have patience ...for now. We have had our bad luck with injuries and moments in games. O' Dowda and Collins are big payers for us. We absolutely mustn't lose next week though. We'll then be in free fall mode again if we do. Pressure is on Morison, he needs a perfornmance and a result.

Awful Cardiff display, again no goals even if hit post twice & missed a sitter. The lack of energy, movement, intensity and so little threat really worries.
2 goals in almost 12 hours, 2 pts in 15, seriously poor and that's why we're 21st tonight!

Alot of people on here wanted SM to be in charge before MM was even sacked. He took over and kept us out of relegation. Now he has be given a chance to rebuild a brand new squad people are already calling for him to go :banghead: We are only 8 games in from 48. A long long way to go. This was always going to be a transitional season and if people cannot see that then they are deluded. Cannot expect miracle overnight. This team will come good. But PATIENCE is definetely what is needed by so many of us bluebirds :bluebird: :bluebird:

We've played 8 games, not 38. I stand by my view. No prizes are handed out in September.

Great post, Ned

I alluded to similar in other thread before I read this one and couldn't agree more... :ayatollah:

3 games ago , if we had won we would have been top of the league.
Its still very early days. One point away from being mid table ?
Did I say its very early days ? So don't panic Captain Mainwaring ;)

Re: " Patience "

We've played three of the top four with brand new team, and only just managed to get the striker in, we've also lost three of our best layers to injuries and we've been a bit unlucky in a few games.

I appreciate yesterday was difficult, but we hit the post and goals change games, it's a difficult transition, but lets stick the the team and get behind them, they need us more than ever, keep the faith and don't panic :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

He's got two big problems to solve and we will be decent, defending corners and dead balls, and moving the ball forward quicker so we don't have to try and score past 10 of the opposition behind the ball and filling their box.

I like the new style but we need veriety and we are too predictable and easy to stop, now that teams have had tme to study us, and stop Wintle playing.

O'Dowda, Collins and Adams are a big loss too, hopefully two back quicky, keep positive there is plenty to work on :ayatollah:
