The games I went to last season were lame, atmosphere wise. We had better atmosphere against the likes of halifax at the old place.

The "greatest team in football" song repeated like 20 times. Chopra song a few times (but that song's class - whoever came up with it I owe em a pint). Jay Bothroyd, Jay Bothroyd" a few times. And that was it.

Lame.

I think in fairness to DJ what he said has been taken out of context, and probably doesn't help the situation he has with the local media.

He was asked a question about the atmosphere at matches and if he had better media skills he would have deflected it because whatever his answer it would be spun.

He said that last season there were a number of games at CCS where the atmosphere at pitch level was special, in particular the night games, and he thinks our players should want to perform in this special atmosphere. He accepted that Ninian Park had a special atmosphere he just said last season the fans made the CCS a special place to play football on a number of occasions, and that was a great credit to them.

He was complimenting the fans on creating this atmosphere during the first season at the ground and he was sure if the players do their bit the fans will maintain the atmosphere this season.

In fairness to him he in no way disrespected the Ninian Park. No Way

He's probably a fan of bigger grounds though. Ninian Park was by far a better atmosphere, with a hell of a lot less people making shit loads more noise than the drizzle that is heard most games at the CCS.

Yes he did mention the bigger crowds but again in a way that complemented the fans

Anybody who thinks NP was fantastic for atmosphere needs a reality check, I have hardly missed a game in 47 years, done SV Hamburg, Real Madrid, Leeds of a few years ago and probably WBA of about 3/4 years ago was superb but in between NP was a graveyard.............you cannot hang on to this myth that NP was intimidating as it was for Leeds and a few other games but in the main was lethargic which is why we lost so many home games. I dont know the stats but percentage wise we must be more succesfull at CCS where the atmosphere is more consistent

Your last sentence said it all....not regular enough!!

People are still getting used to the new stadium and it will take time for everyone to settle. One of the worst (but sort of understandable) moves was to swap the Grange End fans with the Canton Stand. It still seems odd to me to hear the singing so far from the away support.

It'll get better and as a couple of games (particularly the Jack game last season and the last minutes of the Leicester semi-final game) showed, the atmosphere at the CCS can be as good if not better than at Ninian Park.

New ground, new supporters....it'll be alright on the noght!!
