West Brom are in talks to sign Southampton forward Theo Walcott on loan, hours after the Bluebirds were linked with him, according to The Athletic.

This really could come full circle, with Cardiff poised to sign Baggies forward Callum Robinson, and therefore freeing up room in their squad for Walcott, a player the Bluebirds had enquired about.

The Athletic report Steve Bruce's side hold a "strong interest" in signing the player on a year-long loan deal, which would see him up until the end of his Saints contract.

One of the few clubs in this league that could offer a better financial packet than us.
