Millwall boss Rowett on Romeo return:

The Lions boss told South London press: “Mahlon has played a lot of games for the club over a period of time and he was a popular figure with other players and staff.

“I’m sure he’ll say a few hellos and be welcomed back by a few players. He was a good character, I enjoyed working with him.

“It’s like when any player comes back to their former club, I’m sure his motivation is to try and get wins for Cardiff and our motivation is to try and win as well.”

Their manager is not addressing the elephant in the room on this one. I'm sure you'll correct me on this if I'm wrong but don't their fans hate him now because he did some kind of black power salute. I heard that's why he had to go on loan because their fan gave him so much shit If that's the case it'll be a huge test for him.

Correct. Almost certain that he won't get a warm reception from the Millwall fans. Hopefully he can make his football do the talking.

I’d say it’s probably a massive motivation to get one over them today. Probably more personal than the usual “return” to an ex-club.

He has been excellent so far and if he plays like he did on Tuesday the Millwall fans will be gutted.
