Morison and Jones : I might be missing something ….. but

Wed Aug 31, 2022 10:43 am

In my opinion Morison Needs to calm down and concentrate on getting the team winning than continually having ago at others.

I just watched the Video at the final whistle and Nathan Jones celebrated for 2 seconds and turned and walked straight over to sour and bad attitude Morison and shakes his hand and you can see he wanted to be gentlemanly.

What’s Steve Morison problem, picks on his own players,if we don’t win he says the players did not do what he planned, publicly humiliates them, the media, even Twitter City fans and now another manager.
One minute says I got every player I wanted, I was fully backed, they want to play for me , they came here for me, then last week, no money , I hope they back me,I tried for players they went elsewhere.

Is his inexperience showing and bad attitude?

Morison and Jones : I might be missing something ….. but what do you expect fans and officials to do when they win a game ….. snd more so if it is a nice scalp .

Every owner , director , official , fan and naturally “manager” will celebrate big time !!!! Yes gentlemen always shake hands and say something to their counterparts ….. like “well done” and “all the best”….whether they mean it or not. However , everyone jumps up and down and many shout or do whatever .

Do what was Jones supposed to do ???

Win an important game away …… and then shake hands snd commiserate and then start jumping up and down ????? I think Jones behaved properly and naturally.

Morison must be big enough . I believe in this instance he was unreasonable , rather petty and a baaaad loser .

We all in the main hate to lose ….. but one should hold one’s composure ….. especially officials and managers.

I am afraid I can only see his time as our manager going one way with the personality/attitude he portrays.
Unless results dramatically change he won't last long.

The Hatters boss, a big Cardiff City fan and former academy player, of course, was contrite in his own post-match press conference.

"If I've upset anyone I don't mean it. I do 14 hours a day, I'm up 2am Sunday mornings watching games. I'm a passionate guy and sometimes I get carried away. If I've offended anyone I apologise. I don't mean to do that. Maybe I should have (shaken hands), it wasn't meant in any malice," Jones said.

"I don't comment on any managers. In the first half he had a go at my centre-forward and said 'you're too lazy to run and committed the foul'. I don't understand that. I lost a play-off semi-final to Carlos Corberan who celebrated before shaking my hand. I understand that, he'd just got to Wembley and sometimes these things happen.

"I've never had a conversation with Steve. Until he speaks to me... I don't think he should (say anything) but I'll go and have a drink with him now and if there any issues I'm sure we'll speak.

"It was literally five or six seconds after the final whistle when I was emotional. One of my staff shook his hand before I did, then I came and did. I was overjoyed winning at my boyhood club. That sometimes gets the better of you, but no malice or disrespect meant

Trouble with a lot of folk in life it always someone's elses fault.

Football Management being the worst .

I don’t understand Morison tbh, he comes across a very arrogant and unapproachable human being, most things I’ve watched of him seem like he would be very difficult to get along with and that you could never question anything he does, not my type of guy to be honest but everyone is different

Jones was moaning at 3 rd official and linesman all match..
his high pitched voice stood out
a cross between Bobby Ball and Max Wall( in those tight black trousers )
he was getting on my nerves from where I was sat behind him.
Expected the celebration, no complaints there..
but any manager that still thinks Jerome is a first team Championship player must be questioned.

Nathan Jones last night took a significant step toward eventually managing Cardiff City.

His budget is lower than Morison's, yet Luton matched City's new-style brand of football.

Morison tends to show his colours when he has lost and all the frailties, insecurities emerge.

Two strikers were a priority at the start of the summer and now we have less than 48 hours before the window slams shut and we have to put up with the limited Harris and Watters.

On Watters, he is at the top of our club's wage cap. Don't feel sorry for him, the player simply does not cut it at Championship level. He won't be the first or the last. His level is likely to be in Scotland or League One England. It is getting embarrassing.

Harris is a cheap enough employee - but will only ever be an impact player, if that.

Eteta? Not seen enough. But Tottenham Hotspur don't tend do ditch decent youngsters do they? Hmmmm.

For all Morison's good work in the market - and there has been an abundance of that - the signing, or lack, of a pedigree striking fit, will get him the sack.

Such a shame, his managerial frailty and Tan's seeming loss of interest in Cardiff City and the impact of this dreadful Sala financial debacle is lingering over our football club like an albatross.

I remain mystified while the clamor to re-engage the one-pace, limited midfield ability of Ralls abounded over the summer - but Morison must be applauded for other excellent work in the markets.

As in the seasons gone by in the midst of time, we must hope a new Tony Evans emerges from a soccer pothole - eh?

His attitude to the press is also shocking.
Makes Dave jones look like an angel

Morison needs to clean up his attitude asap if he wants to stay in football as a manager, when things are going well he loves every minute band so he should, if things don’t go well, he blames the world and his attitude stinks

I don't know could say its just shows passion and desire. Look at Conte and Tuchel the other week. Mourinho the same. Better than Ole just smiling after losing 5 nil. I want the manager to be peed off after losing myself. Warnock the same also.

That's how I see it. Happy when we win and pissed off when we lose. Shows he cares. He's probably just as frustrated as the rest of us that all he needs is a striker to round this team off. Warnock used to constantly be in the officials ear, come out with all sorts of excuses after a loss and he kicked off with the wolves manager after they beat us which pretty much won them the league. Yet he was and still is idolised by many. To be honest, I quite like how brutal and honest Morison is. Much prefer that compared to the rubbish mick and Harris used to come out with.

Absolutely - a winner should be pissed off and fuming when losing ….. particularly games against teams who you do not expect to lose against .

However , that is TOTALLY different from keeping that subdued and hold your composure and talk as a gentleman. Real winners know how to lose.

Look at Lewis Hamilton or Raphael Nadal ….. how they talk with grace and aplomb when they lose. These two are some of the fiercest competitors imaginable.

Football is a completely different sport to F1 and tennis. Passion boils over all time in football. Its why many people love it. Even Klopp, one of the best managers around has had run-ins with officials etc. He's even blamed losses on grass being too long/dry or it being too windy.

On a side note. Lewis Hamilton might be a fierce competitior but he is a complete bellen. He publicly humiliated his 3 year nephew for wearing a dress. Also accused officials of punishing him in races just because he is black. Hardly graceful.

Get a grip boys, the away Manager, our enemy, just beat Cardiff City and jumped around like a silly little tit, cheated and dived and wasted time all game, and our Manager is in the wrong????

He should have knocked him out!

At least he doesn't steal quotes from other Forums and pretend their his own... ;)

In relation to the incident, it does appear to be a storm in a tea cup stirred up by Steve Morison; but he hates losing and that's a good trait for a football manager, where you are only as good as your last game in the short-termist environment we currently find ourselves

Bang on Sven. Give me a manager who's a bad loser every time over one who will settle for 2nd best. I seem to remember it was ok when Warnock used to get pissed off after losing.
