Colwiil instead of sawyers

Sun Aug 28, 2022 9:11 am

Been thinking about yesterday's game and to me colwill would be a much better option in sawyers position. Tbh I've been a little disappointed with sawyers, I thought he would offer more having the freedom he can have in midfield but he looks lazy.

I tend to agree. I personally feel Sawyers has been our worst player this season to date, it seems as if he tries to much, but that could be down to me having to high expectations of him. He often plays the wrong pass at the wrong time. A couple of times he played a pass into the box for Watters when it wasn’t on, and the one time it was on he blasted the shot over the bar. There’s no doubting his ability, but he just seems to be a bit off it at the moment especially with his decision making and passing. The only problem with playing Colwill there instead is that he’s nowhere near as good without the ball defensively.

Ralls or rhinomhota and wintle behind should mop up for any defensive frailties?

I said this in a previous thread. I would build the team around him in an advanced midfield role. His work rate off the ball yesterday was really good. If he can keep that up I can't see why he couldn't rotate with Sawyers.

I disagree, highlighted why in a topic I've just posted.

I think as the season goes on, the importance of Sawyers will be clear.

There is a place for Colwill in our team, but there's also a place for Sawyers.

I'm not saying sawyers is a bad player at all, and definitely not slating him. I'm just saying I'm disappointed with his performances. I expected more from him. Probably because he was only one of a couple of the new signings I knew much about. And after colwill performance yesterday I believe he'd do well more central.
