Good Interview By DJ On Cardiff City Player

I don't know what's happened down at CCS but if DJ pre match interview is anything to go by it's good news.

It appears that the problems with CB are not related to a lack of a pre season, in fact DJ is saying that Craig was in fact training twice a day at Man City and his current problem started because he overdone his pre season work. However DJ said both CB and SO have a chance of playing he just has to decide how much of a risk it will be. If his body language is anything to go by he has already decided and one or both are playing.

Interesting news on the contract front as well with DJ saying that new contracts have been agreed with both Whitts and Darcy and will be signed soon. All negotiations are complete and both players are happy, discussions are ongoing with the agents of Jay, Chris Burke and Adam Matthews and the club are hopeful in all cases. Nothing said about Steve McPhail or Gavin Rae and maybe that says everything about their futures at the club.

There was a nice moment where he took the piss out of the guys at MediaWales over Jay and his alledged hereidity calf problem. It appears to be total bullshit which let's face it anyone with half a brain cell would have realised.

Given his demeanor during the interview I would say there is every chance Bellamy will at least make the bench tomorrow and Olafinjana will I think start.

If they do 3 points for the Bluebirds I think.

Those two got their opportunity and disgraced themselves, IYAM. You could cut McPhail a bit of slack coming back after his op but Rae just hasn't worked out for us. We should have sent him to Southend instead of Nat Jarvis

Another thing that DJ said during this interview was that negotiating player contracts was now part of his remit. He said that with the "Previous People" aka Peter Ridsdale (although he never said his name) he identified the players and they took over.

Now he has agreed with TG & VT that he will cover contract negotiations, supported by Gethin, and that he was happy with all this as that was the way he has always managed in the past.

To be honest I was surprised that he so clearly distanced himself from Peter Ridsdale as I always thought they had quite a close relationship. Maybe not as close as I thought.

But in fairness to both Annis and Carl, who have been saying for months now just how powerful DJ has become at the club he has now confirmed it.

This only goes to prove that this message board is the very best way place to get the inside line on what is happening at our club.
