Train cancelled - suggestions appreciated

Sat Aug 27, 2022 12:05 pm

Had a train cancellation and now not due in Cardiff until 3.30.

Anyone know if they let people into the ground for the second half? Have my season ticket with me so no issue on that front.

Ned they should let you in as its valid for one entry to ground... I was told this morning at station that trains coming from north could be cancelled lack of staff..... unfortunately we chose today to come by train and!! Out train comes from Manchester hope the fck they dont cancel or it's a long replacement coach journey..
Could get refund on train fare..

At least I should be able to see some football :bluebird:

Hopefully no issues with your journey.

Yeah another 20 minute delay for me as well. Be lucky to be at the ground by 4.15 at this rate.

Ned I would seriously consider cancelling or check trains before you leave as this happened after we left home luckily can stop at sisters if cannot get on train which is a possibility knowing tfw organisation skills... 6pm alwsys budy but there is also pride parade so probably got lot more travellers going west wanting sane train... last time choose train ....
Anyone going west after game by car

If I wasn't already well on my way I may have turned round. Just got to hope they let me in and I can see half an hour of the game.

Trains back are going to be a nightmare it looks like.

Got there just in time for second half thankfully.

I'll have to take the Manchester train back in 25 minutes, as you said one two carriage train so not looking forward to that!

Being honest, bit annoying to spend £30-odd to see 45 minutes of football

But glad I got there in the end and enjoyed the second half.

Have to say the stewards were very straightforward about it and let me straight into the stadium.

Thanks mate. Not been able to go to the first two home games due to train strikes, so this was a kick in the teeth!

As said by Allan, the bank holiday probably contributed to it. But also TFW putting on two coaches on their train from Cardiff to Manchester when there were people travelling on that train for football wasn't the best idea. Luckily I had to get off at Hereford. But me, a few Cardiff fans and a fair amount of Preston fans were all standing on the way back with limited room. There were a few who couldn't fit on the train and I feel sorry for them.

Hopefully going to the Luton game on Tuesday and hopefully it'll be a lot simpler

Ned the problem was drivers In England lots decided not to work so called a sickie! We had to stand from Swansea to llanelli ... the mind boggles at the carnage at central station if standing only for us at Swansea wouldn't be surprised if people left behind did notice security presence on platform as we got on our train.... like said be long time if ever we'll use train to go city.. home just after 9pm... glad you got to see most 2nd half.
