Cardiff City are unbeaten in six league games against Preston (W4 D2) since losing 1-0 in December 2017 under manager Neil Warnock.

Preston North End have won one of their last 12 away league games against Cardiff (D5 L6), a 1-0 win in 2017-18; they haven’t scored in their three visits since then (D2 L1).

Cardiff haven’t scored more than once in any of their last 11 league games, netting just six goals in this run. They’ve failed to score in their last two games (D1 L1).

Preston’s five league matches this season have seen just one goal scored, a Brad Potts winner against Luton Town. It is the fewest goals scored in a team’s first five matches in a Football League season in history.

With five clean sheets in their opening five league games this season, Preston are looking to become the first English league team to keep a clean sheet in their first six league matches of a season since Chelsea in 2005-06, and the first in the second tier since Oldham Athletic in 1986-87.
