Steve Morison: “ Is there a Striker coming in? “

Thu Aug 25, 2022 3:39 pm

Morison has been looking for nearly 8 months for a decent striker:

In the Bluebirds 6 competitive matches so far, they have scored 3 goals.

Steve Morison:

“ I know what your alluding to ‘is there a striker coming through the door?’ “ No.”

“Not at this current moment. But there’s not really anything for me to tell you on that. We’re just fishing around for me to say we need a striker.”

“If we see one that will improve us, and the board back us, then we’d be stupid not to do it.”

“Is there a manager in the football world that isn’t looking for, for example, a centre-forward? “

“Every team is having the same conversation.”

“Everyone’s press is asking the same question and every team is giving the same answer. It is what it is. It’s always going to be a topic of debate and it’s usually on the back of not scoring a goal.”

“There’s not a team in this league that’s not looking for a Mitrovic.”

I disagree that there are no strikers available. If we, as a club, are willing to pay a price we can get who we choose.

Here is a list of players currently free agents. No transfer fee. A £30k weekly salary would cost us £1.2m until June (End of Season).

We supposedly have £4m from the sale of Kieffer Moore so why cant we sign on two decent players until next summer.

How can a manager being honest be a disgrace?? Tan wont spend the money on a decent striker end of how is that Morrisons fault a decent Championship striker cost money and we wont have money like that while Tan is here.

Morison cannot come out and say the strikers we have a terrible and I want a new one as he needs the ones we got so he is trying to build their confidence as any strikers worth anything as Morrison said he will need it to be approved by the board meaning if they are on to much of a salary we wont get them simple as.

Its going to be a hard season its not Morrisons fault I believe until we have football people on the board instead of Dalman then we will always struggle

Don’t really understand. If short of money why pay £500k to Spurs to a player who is not starting. With that money we could use for a premiership striker for the season, who would be playing from day 1. On loan I might add.

The majority of that money only gets paid if he makes a certain amount of Championship games, so so far hardly cost us, But we need goals asap.

I think he was more of an investment gamble and hoping he’s worth a few mill profit in a couple of seasons to be honest.
