Steve Morison: “ Hugill “

Thu Aug 25, 2022 2:14 pm

Hugill - often mentioned?

“I’ve not had any phone call to say ‘want to take him. He was great for us last year. He played well and scored the other night.”

“ It’s amazing because after the first game of the season no one was worried about it. Or Birmingham. Everyone needs to stop being so reactive in this world and find a base of consistency and level-headedness and patience and realise that there’s another game on Saturday. Hopefully at the end of next Saturday when we’re sitting there after the Millwall game our conversations are different and more about football not personnel.”

Bit of a strange answer. Why doesn't he call his agent or Norwich?

I suspect there were talks previously where Norwich and Hugill decided to stick together for now. If nothing has changed why waste time.

I may be wrong, but I assume we can expect the same offensive line up that has mis-fired so far this season.
I don't wish to be critical about this, as Morison knows far more about the game than myself; but I hope he gets it right!

Hmmmm….think most fans were worried about the strikers we had before the first ball of the season was kicked and more so now after what we’ve seen so far .
We simply don’t have a championship class , proven goal scorer at the club so that’s why it keeps getttung raised SM…..

We got promoted to the Premier League twice without a 20 goal striker.

I thought our manager was supposed to be looking for a striker or is he just waitng for someone to ring him and ask him would he like a striker
its getting a bit wearing all this cloak and dagger if money is available why are we not looking at cameron archer and the like along with these other clubs either you say we can go for these sort of players or not if there is no money then say so
and put the blame squarly at the boards door
i don't understand all this b.ll.x sign a striker or 2 or our season will be a long one and what about answering the fans views i like morrison and he has done a great job of putting a team together but when it comes to connecting with the fans he is a million miles away from warnock s connection with fans

We did but still good to have a good striker in your team who can bang in the goals

Agree with both points above - We went up under MM with no more than 10 or 11 goals as top scorer .
But this was built on a solid defence and the same to a point under NW .

A striker is need to add to the squad - :bluebird:

Monty boy get a grip ffs.
You think he’s sat in his office waiting for the phone to ring?

You mention Cameron Archer? How do you know we haven’t looked at him? Spoken to him or his agent?
There could be a dozen reasons why we have or haven’t or we can’t get him or he doesn’t want to come.

You think it’s like going to Tesco and picking something off the shelf?

I can assure you there has been and still is plenty of work going on behind the scenes but like he said he’s not going to sign a player for the sake of it.
It has to be the right player, right price, right wages, right personality, etc etc.

We’re all a bit frustrated we haven’t signed a striker or two but I’d rather this way of getting players quietly than all the crap in the past.

He was the one who said norwich had not rang him i know he has not just been sitting on his a.se give me a break and i know he is trying but its this thing between him and the board one minute there is no money then there is
or there is nothing out there we will have played 6/8 games already without a striker that can score before this transfer window ends
preston sat watters harris in again we have waited and been here before hoping that someone comes in then we have had to go with what we got
I am just sounding off its a forum i am sure i am not the only cardiff fan frustrated more with the board
i am happy with what morrison has done but he could do with help from tan to get a few strikers over the line which i fear is not forthcoming
sorry if i have p.ssed you off but i think we have a cracking squad this season but need that last but of jigsaw
we have put up with enough crap the last few years.

Yes monty boy and I’m a bit frustrated as you and most other fans are but people are always looking to blame whilst knowing zero facts and hence they make shit up like you have with this Archer player.

I’m probably Watters biggest critic but it is what it is until Morison can get the player he wants, who wants to come and all the other factors fit.

It was said months ago that there is money about for the right players and that’s been proven.

Better this way for me rather than wasting millions on Madine and the likes.

Exactly mate, he's got a list of Strikers we are waiting to see how far down the list we have to go over the next week as the Premier teams decide who they can loan out before the transfer window closes, we'll know in a week!
