Nakhi Wells

Sun Aug 21, 2022 7:29 pm

Was a handful all afternoon and a player like him is definitely what we need leading a rookie line. Not saying him, but a 30 something that has been around the block. Ran and ran and was threatening all through the match.

Was linked with him a few weeks back and not good replies on here.

Many saying he was past it on here a few weeks ago. Best player on the pitch imo yesterday. Constant threat. Great assist for their first and nearly another one but it was offside. Deserved a tap in at the end too but their rwb messed the pass up.

Will be an important player for Bristol this season. Shows what a bit of experience up top does for you.

i didn't see much difference between him and Watters, both run the channels well, run in behind the defenders really well, but felt confident neither would actually score.

That’s exactly how I see it and why I thought it was pointless signing him over Watters. Not much of an improvement really. Never thought he was a threat to our goal.

Apart from a wonderful cross for their first goal.

One good cross doesn’t make him a world beater.

I'd agree with Dorset here, I think Wells was great on the weekend. Ran Romeo ragged and banged in cross after cross playing wider. Had really good link up with Conway, who unfortunately capitalised - though he did go to ground very easily often...

A proper seasoned championship veteran is Wells. Not the most eye catching but you ask Romeo, NG etc and they will tell you that the front three they faced on Sunday will be up there with the best in the division.

Weimann - record talks for itself

Conway - up and coming youngster, can’t even compare him with Mark Harris as this kid is already head and shoulders above him. He, along with Wells was everywhere.

Wells - knew his task and pulled it off to a tee. Very unselfish striker, knows where the net is and where his team mates will be.

If we had Wells and he had Watters or Harris’ one on ones then we’d have come away with at least a point.

Their front three did do well against us yes. It was a one off though. They’ve been dogshit but they were just up for this game more than us as usual. Wells isn’t the man for us. We don’t want a striker drifting wide and putting in crosses we need a striker that gets in the end of things in the box. 3 goals in 34 games last year for Wells. Not a prolific striker.

Playing like he knows he needs a new club, don't think it'll be us though after what the gaffer said about thirty something players.

But it does if he's not our player according to some, it happens time after time. If he was our player he would be called useless & only puts in a cross every now & then.

I would take Wells, Wiemann and Conway
